Mainly because I wanted everyone to know about a new book series I am reading that I love. It is called The Expanse series by James S.A. Corey (who are actually two guys) and the first book is called Leviathan Wakes. They sometimes collaborate with George RR Martin which is why I decided to check this series out. I haven't been this excited about a series in awhile. After ASOIAF, really wanted to find another fantasy series to love and got lots of recommendations. But I just couldn't find one that I could get into. I tried REALLY hard with Name of the Wind. Trust me! But I seriously hated the main character. I will say it was well written though. And the story was exciting. I may revisit it later, but I doubt it. That Kvothe guy irritated me so much! He was so full of himself and was perfect at everything. I like characters to have flaws.<br />
<br />
Anyways, back to The Expanse! Yes! Check it out. It is a science fiction series which I usually do not like as much as fantasy. They always get too technical for me. But something about this one just grabbed me and I am in love. I plan on reading all of them. I believe there are currently 3 out right now and there are plans for more. It takes place in the future when most of the solar system has been colonized. Which has led me to googling a bunch on whether this might be possible someday! I have always loved reading about our solar system. Space is just crazy and I just can't wrap my little mind around it! The characters are cool and I like them. Mars is bad (I think) and a war is going to begin. I wish I could read it all day. I am still a slow reader, but that's ok. I'm not slow as much as I don't make time to read. I need to find a better time than right before bed. I always end up being too tired and fall asleep!<br />
<br />
Let's see what else is new with Beddee. I got a Nintendo 3DS for Christmas and love it so much. This is another reason I haven't been reading as much as I'd like. I went a little crazy and got every game I wanted immediately. They are all fun, but I know I am neglectful of certain games. Like Luigi's Mansion. It's super fun, but I couldn't capture one particular ghost so I gave up! My favorite games are Zelda, Pokemon Y and all the Mario's. But my very favorite is Donkey Kong Country Returns! I am seriously addicted. I love that guy! I am almost done with it, but have gone back to try and collect all the KONG letters so I can unlock an extra level.<br />
<br />
Another thing is that I am planning on running in the Bolder Boulder on Memorial Day! It's a 10K race and I am super excited. I hope I can do it (yes I can!) I have ran a 5K before so I just basically need to double that. I've already started training. I actually hate running, but have always wanted to run a half marathon. I think this will be a good start to reach that goal. And just maybe I will start to like it more!<br />
<br />
Well, that is it for now. I will probably update this more but am not holding myself to it. I talked to Saucer and we were thinking about doing movie reviews. We both see so many movies! And Game of Thrones' new season is starting soon!!!!! I am so excited.<br />

I guess I have some explaining to do..I know I haven't been blogging lately. I took a little break from writing, but now I am ready to get back! I started crocheting and have been obsessed with making scarves for just about everyone I know. I am pretty proud because I taught myself by watching various YouTube instructional videos. And <i>Crocheting For Dummies</i>. I freaking love the <i>Dummies</i> books! They have gotten me out of many a jam..quite literally when I visited London. And I was able to find Platform 9 3/4 with it's assistance.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Next Stop: To Hogwarts!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anyways, I do apologize to anyone who was missing me (if you exist, please comment). I decided I need to start blogging again since you know what is starting at the end of the month. This is, of course, <i>Game Of Thrones</i> <i>Season Three</i>! Wooooooo! I am getting so excited. They are showing the trailers and promo pictures and it just looks fantastic.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lVA9dUa0UV4/UTaonyCq0LI/AAAAAAAABiU/BamHnhpkp1g/s1600/GOT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lVA9dUa0UV4/UTaonyCq0LI/AAAAAAAABiU/BamHnhpkp1g/s640/GOT.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Wooooooooo Again!!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The trailer looks great, of course. I especially like the appearance of the BEAR!!!! And the dragons. And Tyrion. And Jon Snow/Ygritte. Ok I love everyone! Except Joffrey (okay, even Joffrey)!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/C1pbtBX9Kok?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am still slowly bumbling my way through <i>A Dance With Dragons</i>. I really need to keep up with my reading more. But I have been so preoccupied with various activities. I usually read before bed, but lately I have been getting up at the butt crack of dawn to work out. So I get super tired and fall asleep mid-page. I feel bad for falling asleep while poor <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/blog-post.html">Theon</a> is continuously abused by that freak Ramsay Bolton! After learning Theon's fate, I have fully forgiven him for the whole Bran/Rickon/Winterfell fiasco. It's not like the Stark boys are <i>really</i> dead. And you know Winterfell is going to rise from the ashes eventually. So let Theon be great!!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am also excited for the upcoming movie, <i>Oz The Great And Powerful</i>. The original <i>Wizard Of Oz</i> was my very favorite when I was little. So this movie totally touches my heart. It looks super cool and I can't wait to see which witch is the green witch. I actually have a bet going on this (the price of movie admission).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B5IYieB6TIs/UTasYMQjJFI/AAAAAAAABio/z1ROy9lD1KM/s1600/oz_the_great_and_powerful_green_witch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B5IYieB6TIs/UTasYMQjJFI/AAAAAAAABio/z1ROy9lD1KM/s320/oz_the_great_and_powerful_green_witch.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Totally Mila Kunis</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well that is all for now. I will be writing more in the weeks ahead and then I plan to do individual episode reviews once our beloved <i>GOT</i> begins! I am happy to be back!</div>

I am especially looking forward to it because it's going to be hosted by these two hot ladies!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aO7GDnpJiiM/UPM9MZKFTwI/AAAAAAAABW0/T0_7d8KsacM/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aO7GDnpJiiM/UPM9MZKFTwI/AAAAAAAABW0/T0_7d8KsacM/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Love Love Love Them!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I am making some vegan gumbo (it's delicious, really) and preparing to watch the first major awards show of the season. And, since I have seen most of the movies..I am going to give my opinion on who will/should/absolutely NOT win. But I have to first express my disappointed that <i>Game of Thrones</i> wasn't nominated for anything and either was <i>The Hobbit</i>. If Beddee was in charge, these two films would lead all nominations. I just wish that fantasy was more respected by the powers that be. But that's something us fantasy fans have long dealt with so whatever. We know it's the best in our hearts! That being said, there were a lot of really good movies this year, so here are my picks!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b>BEST MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<li style="list-style: none inside none !important; margin: 12px 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="font-family: inherit;">Argo</span></b><br /><b>Django Unchained</b><br /><b>Life of Pi</b><br /><b>Lincoln</b><br /><b>Zero Dark Thirty</b></span></li>
<li style="list-style: none inside none !important; margin: 12px 0px; padding: 0px;">I have seen all these movie except for <i>Zero Dark Thirty</i>. It just now came to my town, so I will probably see it this week. I hear it's excellent, but I don't think it's really a "Beddee" type movie. So I am not picking it. Honestly, all these movies were excellent. I would be happy with any of them winning. However, I have a sinking feeling that <i>Lincoln</i> will sweep the award. Which is fine, it really was good. But sweeps are soooo boring! Beddee's pick would be <i>Life of Pi</i>!</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HB7vIGv4MGw/UPNAc6Z-pkI/AAAAAAAABXU/Uc8PTKz4Ep8/s1600/th.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HB7vIGv4MGw/UPNAc6Z-pkI/AAAAAAAABXU/Uc8PTKz4Ep8/s1600/th.jpg" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="line-height: 20px;">I just can't help it, I love this movie and the book too. It just is such a wonderful story and the movie was beautifully made. I don't think it has a chance against <i>Lincoln </i>or <i>Argo </i>though.</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">BEST MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Les Misérables</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Moonrise Kingdom</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Salmon Fishing in the Yemen</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Silver Linings Playbook</span></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">This is a toughie. I haven't seen <i>The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel </i>or <i>Salmon Fishing in the Yemen</i>. But I don't think either will win so I will just go by the other three. <i>Les Mis</i> I say absolutely NOT! LOL but I might be biased. I don't think I like musicals. They are just silly to me and I get sick of the singing really quick. I went to this movie and thought I might die by the time they got to the revolution. But I know others like musicals (Saucer included) so I won't talk too much smack! It's totally between <i>Moonrise Kingdom</i> and <i>Silver Lining Playbook</i>. I am going to pick the latter. It was so sweet and funny and it made me go from hating Bradley Cooper to loving him. I think it will win too.</span></span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lu1ugMDYoUY/UPNCI5p__oI/AAAAAAAABX0/H1IGFYUMt7o/s1600/th+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lu1ugMDYoUY/UPNCI5p__oI/AAAAAAAABX0/H1IGFYUMt7o/s1600/th+(1).jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">BEST ANIMATED FILM</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Brave</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Frankenweenie</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Hotel Transylvania</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Rise of the Guardians</span><br style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;" /><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;">Wreck-It Ralph</span></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></b></span>
<span style="line-height: 20px;">I have seen all of these except for <i>Rise of the Guardians</i>, but I am going with <i>Wreck-It Ralph</i>. It was so cool! But I loved every single one of the movies listed.</span><br />
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-57cXkHJ_oUU/UPND6MnkO0I/AAAAAAAABYU/NYpPmRGlXcE/s1600/th+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-57cXkHJ_oUU/UPND6MnkO0I/AAAAAAAABYU/NYpPmRGlXcE/s1600/th+(2).jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><b>Adorbs</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;">Okay, this is totally taking longer than I thought so that's all I am going to do! Ha ha. But, I am thinking of</span><span style="line-height: 20px;"> live tweeting the show! So, if you don't already (ha ha), follow me on Twitter!<span style="font-family: inherit;"><b> </b></span></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><b>https://twitter.com/bethann78</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><b><br /></b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;">One more thing. I have to give a shout out to my pick for Best Comedy TV and Best Actor. <i>Episodes</i> on Showtime! Beddee has not mentioned this before, but she has a famous relative! My cousin, Kathleen Rose Perkins, plays Carol on <i>Episodes</i> and is in a lot of other shows and movies as well. It's so much fun seeing her on my screen! She is awesome in real life too and I just love her. Anyway, <i>Episodes</i> is actually a hilarious show even if my cousin wasn't on it. I am hoping that it wins all the awards possible. Matt LeBlanc (the star) won before so there is a good chance! Please keep your fingers crossed for her.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tsQyJVN4AGg/UPNF4nAx04I/AAAAAAAABY0/3eTtuFvMB_w/s1600/th+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tsQyJVN4AGg/UPNF4nAx04I/AAAAAAAABY0/3eTtuFvMB_w/s1600/th+(3).jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><b>That's her on the left in the black dress!!</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="line-height: 20px;">I am boycotting the Best TV Drama category all together because they totally shut my <i>Game of Thrones</i> down. I am sure boring ass <i>Homeland</i> will win everything (Note: I have never seen <i>Homeland</i> so my opinion might be biased)! So that's it folks. Happy viewing!!</span><br />

But I just haven't been ready for a blog post yet. I am still decompressing from the holidays and am finally getting back into a normal routine. Would you believe that Beddee hasn't worked a full "real" week since probably the beginning of December? And I had two glorious 4-day weekends in a row. Ugh, next week is going to be rough!Luckily, I have an <a href="http://sticksswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2013/01/thank-god-its-finally-over.html">ecstatic</a> Saucer to help me through with our daily "business" emails!<br />
<br />
So Beddee had a wonderful New Year's Eve day! My boyfriend and I went to Denver and visited the art museum, the nature and science museum AND the zoo (which was way awesome in winter)! We then ate a delicious Indian dinner and then drove home and stayed in for the evening. Beddee <i>may </i>have had some wine. I have a new favorite brand. Mainly based on the cute name and labels!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KOUQGV5UzsA/UOnvV3UsiHI/AAAAAAAABUM/IYldDDZFlRs/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KOUQGV5UzsA/UOnvV3UsiHI/AAAAAAAABUM/IYldDDZFlRs/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Le Dog, it's VERY sophisticated</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But back to the art museum..they currently have (soon to be over) a beautiful Van Gogh exhibit. We have been meaning to get down there for months, but between weather, being sick etc. It just didn't happen. Now I am not the biggest art aficionado in the world, but I do love looking. I am not claiming to know a lot (I don't) and I am definitely NOT an artist. But this exhibit really spoke to me and I just can't stop thinking about it! The exhibit left me with many unanswered questions, so I am now reading this ridiculously good autobiography.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-24GTnquMLcU/UOnw921USPI/AAAAAAAABUs/KYwwGt72828/s1600/Van+Gogh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-24GTnquMLcU/UOnw921USPI/AAAAAAAABUs/KYwwGt72828/s1600/Van+Gogh.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Not my usual type of book, but I love it</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So yes, Beddee is into an artist phase! I know I am a bit late to the party, but why can't I stop looking at this picture??</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mpp69xRoZ_w/UOnxxELbGCI/AAAAAAAABU0/u8yoQ59Pick/s1600/VGRoom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Mpp69xRoZ_w/UOnxxELbGCI/AAAAAAAABU0/u8yoQ59Pick/s1600/VGRoom.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i>Bedroom in Arles</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The other museum had a really cool <a href="http://www.dmns.org/a-day-in-pompeii/">Pompeii</a> exhibit that made me afraid of Yellowstone blowing up! LOL no, it really was fascinating to look at. This museum is right next to the Denver Zoo. We have a membership and can get in for free so we just took a walk through despite the fact it was 20 degrees outside! I am totally a cold weather person though. I would much prefer that than melting in the sun. There were actually more animals out than I thought too. And some I have never seen! Like arctic foxes and polar bears. And these crazy giant rats that were a lot cuter than they sound!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, enough about NYE, I just wanted to shed some light into my sudden interest in art and Van Gogh. Don't worry, I am still a <i>Game of Thrones</i> freak and have been being teased by HBO with all sorts of cool promos. 3.30.13 cannot come soon enough!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

If Season 3 is anything like <i>A Sword of Storms</i>, it is totally going to be the best season yet. I wonder if they will do the Red Wedding in this one? I hope so..or do I?? I will be sobbing for weeks!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
I have also started watching <i>Once Upon A Time </i>and it's actually really good! I am looking forward to it tonight. Along with <i>The Biggest Loser</i>!</div>

So that is my quick update for today. I am on a new health food kick that requires me to go to the grocery store far more often than I am used to!</div>

Christmas sucks when you are broke, but that's a post for another day. It also doesn't fit in with the theme of this blog! But I am ready to put away the poinsettas and lights and get back to normal. I even went for a run tonight because I have been eating like a damn hobbit lately! But I hope everyone's Christmas was fun. Mine was even with the lack of funds. It's great having a young nephew and niece to watch open presents. Plus I think I talked my nephew into reading <em>The Hobbit</em>! Yay! I think he will like it. It was a white Christmas here in the Rocky Mountain region. I ran into some icy weather driving home on I-25 on Christmas Eve. It was awful! But I channeled the Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf on my own "unexpected journey"! I got us all home nice and safe and for that I am grateful! I am on a sort-of vacation too. I had four days off but I am back at work for three days. Then I get another four days off because I took off for NYE! Woo hoo! <br />
<br />
I did go to the movies AGAIN over the holiday weekend. I saw <em>This Is 40</em> and <em>Django Unchained</em>. Both were good movies that ran on a tad too long. LOL this coming from the girl who could watch all three <em>LOTR </em>along with <em>The Hobbit</em> and be perfectly fine! <em>This Is 40</em> was really funny, but I cannot STAND that Leslie Mann lady. I know she is married to Judd Apatow and all, but ugh. I just find her totally annoying! But Paul Rudd has my heart so it was all worth it.<br />
<br />

<strong>Dreamboat</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong></strong> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Saucer would also be interested in knowing that some of her beloved Flyers have a cameo in the movie. Of course, they are flirting with Leslie Mann and Megan Fox. But it was still a fun little scene!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I saw <em>Django Unchained</em> on Christmas Day. Yes, a Tarantino movie on Christmas! But at least I didn't bring a small child with me. Unlike a certain couple who was there. Seriously! Who brings a damn baby to a Quentin Tarantino movie. On Christmas no less! It was annoying, but at least the kid didn't scream and cry or anything. Just crawled around on the dirty ass movie theater floor. Oh and also, some random dude came and sat directly next to my boyfriend like 20 minutes into the movie when there were other seats available! And then he started texting! I couldn't believe my eyes. This is why I normally go to movies at night. I am all about the late showing even if I am a bit tired the next day. Not as many rude idiots are there. So some of my attention was diverted, but the movie was awesome. Though very violent. I LOVE Quentin T. movies, I really do. This one probably isn't one of my favorites, but I would totally recommend it. Some of it was just too much for me. But there was one scene with Jonah Hill that was one of the most hilarious things I have seen in a long time. I will leave it at that! Oh and with a picture of the ultra talented Leo D and Jaime F.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4DzZL5HmK_8/UNvIg2KdKcI/AAAAAAAABR0/FgabVeigCPE/s1600/Django-Unchained.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4DzZL5HmK_8/UNvIg2KdKcI/AAAAAAAABR0/FgabVeigCPE/s320/Django-Unchained.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Hell Yeah!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also rented a couple of Redbox movies. I am really liking Redbox again. For awhile, they pissed me off, but now they have some cool choices. I live in a small town, so a lot of the independent movies I want to see never come to the theaters here. We either have to drive at least an hour to see them or wait until they are On Demand which is a super rip-off. But Redbox has been getting more of them so it's way cool. We got three movies and I will briefly review them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<em>Butter</em>: I honestly liked this one even though my <em>Entertainment Weekly </em>called it one of the worst of the year. I have personally seen WAY worse with my own two eyes. But whatever. I was entertained the whole time. It was about a butter carving contest in a small town. It had a cool cast and I enjoyed it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><em></em></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<em>The Amazing Spiderman</em>: Yes, this is NOT an independent movie and I already saw it this summer. But we wanted to see it again so we Redboxed it. Aww, I love this Spiderman!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KknWJQvnkYE/UNvKoMhq91I/AAAAAAAABSU/0RZEFoTOOfs/s1600/imagesCADJF49V.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KknWJQvnkYE/UNvKoMhq91I/AAAAAAAABSU/0RZEFoTOOfs/s1600/imagesCADJF49V.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Beddee Likes Spidee!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<em>Liberal Arts</em>: This was my least favorite movie that I watched even though it wasn't terrible. It was just pretentious and I hate that. It had Elizabeth Olsen in it and I am really liking her as an actress. She plays a college aged girl who falls for a 35 year old dude. The dude is super annoying. She is as well, but at least she can blame it on being 19. He cannot do this and is just really lame. But I think he is supposed to be? I don't know, sometimes these independent films confuse me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that's it! Beddee watches a lot of movies huh? I am still reading <em>World War Z </em>and have almost finished it. I am so slow, but I get so distracted when I read! I will review it when I am done. And then I am probably going back to epic fantasy. Until then!</div>

Yes! This is the song I have been singing in my head since last Thursday night at midnight! Beddee is completely immersed in <em>Hobbit</em> fever so you must forgive her. It's a little ridiculous. I even saw it again last night and wouldn't hesitate to see it a third time. It is my favorite movie of the year, hands down. I saw it in 2D and 3D and I would recommend the 2D. I don't know, 3D didn't add much but a couple bucks and I always get a headache. I don't think the theater I was in had the special 48 frames per second though. Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, go as soon as you possibly can. It is long, yes, but I loved every single minute of it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U5uPuSrcnPM/UNEsoGDXL-I/AAAAAAAABLk/TctunzQdA-o/s1600/PHaBdoOU0mUwdj_1_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U5uPuSrcnPM/UNEsoGDXL-I/AAAAAAAABLk/TctunzQdA-o/s320/PHaBdoOU0mUwdj_1_m.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Gandalf and Bilbo!</strong></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I thought Bilbo Baggins was absolutely terrific. I admit Old Bilbo was not among my favorites in the LOTR films. I felt he kind of effed over poor Frodo, but I guess it wasn't really his fault. Bilbo definitely has his faults, but I really enjoyed the Bilbo in this movie. And Gandalf has always been one of my faves. Just look at that kindly old wizard!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So as I have mentioned before, I have not read any of these books. I straight up admit that I have only seen the movies. This is rare for me (I love reading more than anything), but I had a really hard time with <em>The Fellowship of the Ring</em>. It was like reading the Bible, but with hobbit names! I heard it gets better, but I just rewatched the movie instead. Oh well, it is my shame and I bear it well. So I vaguely know the story of The Hobbit, but have never read it. I knew that dwarves were going to be involved. With the LOTR trilogy, my only experience with dwarves is Gimli, seen here.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0FxXzNu6fJo/UNEsj5BPzhI/AAAAAAAABLM/crZbRAzwcMk/s1600/Gimli.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0FxXzNu6fJo/UNEsj5BPzhI/AAAAAAAABLM/crZbRAzwcMk/s320/Gimli.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Gimli</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong></strong> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love Gimli, don't get me wrong. He is brave, funny and a powerful warrior. But let's face it, he doesn't really do much for the ladies. He is no elf (Legolas). Or man (Aragorn). Or even a hobbit (Frodo). He is just an funny little dwarf. So I pretty much imagined that all dwarves look like Gimli. There is a group of 13 dwarves in this movie, pictured here.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wV4FeCVooTo/UNEswxNBRMI/AAAAAAAABL0/oDGasfkJwZ8/s1600/THE-HOBBIT-DWARVES.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="131" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wV4FeCVooTo/UNEswxNBRMI/AAAAAAAABL0/oDGasfkJwZ8/s320/THE-HOBBIT-DWARVES.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Lucky 13</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So a lot of the dwarves DO look like Gimli. In fact, I learned on Wikipedia (shut up!) that one of these dwarves is Gimli's dad! But the head dwarf prince, Thorin Oakenshield is fierce!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pzTX9DXSAhY/UNEszClX5bI/AAAAAAAABL8/0lVZB-Q1zYU/s1600/thorin-oakenshield-hobbit-poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pzTX9DXSAhY/UNEszClX5bI/AAAAAAAABL8/0lVZB-Q1zYU/s320/thorin-oakenshield-hobbit-poster.jpg" width="215" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And let's face it, Kili isn't so bad either.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j28cgaxrSIg/UNEsl7nnF8I/AAAAAAAABLc/Sc7hw3fyhmE/s1600/imagesCAM0XDND.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j28cgaxrSIg/UNEsl7nnF8I/AAAAAAAABLc/Sc7hw3fyhmE/s1600/imagesCAM0XDND.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Where's your bulbous nose and bushy beard?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong></strong> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So <em>The Hobbit </em>has made me rethink my dwarf stereotypes and they are now one of my favorite Middle Earth beings. But Thorin really needs to lighten up. I know he has to kill dragons and orcs and stuff, but seriously. He is really mean to Bilbo sometimes. It's not like Bilbo is trained for this or anything. Plus dwarves seem pretty immune to death. Like that falling rock scene? As if ANY of the dwarves would have really survived that! Let alone all 13. I know, it's a movie!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But my favorite part of <em>The Hobbit</em> is by far the part with GOLLUM!! Yes! I knew he was back, but it was great to see him again. And to find out the history of how Bilbo got the One Ring in the first place.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J9-i2slIH0w/UNEsk7iak2I/AAAAAAAABLU/7sizIjXLQmU/s1600/hobbit1-021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J9-i2slIH0w/UNEsk7iak2I/AAAAAAAABLU/7sizIjXLQmU/s320/hobbit1-021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Gollum Rules, That is All!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Bilbo and Gollum's game of riddles was the best part of the movie. Even though "what have I got in my pocket?" isn't really a riddle. Poor Gollum, I sort of feel bad for him. Bilbo actually DID steal his ring. But he is crazy so oh well! Maybe the ring was better off with Gollum? We will never know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that is my review of <em>The Hobbit</em>. My only complaint was the lack of female characters. Seriously, Galadriel was the only one. If you haven't seen it, go ASAP! I can't wait until they fight Smaug the dragon in the following movies!! Oh, and I am finally going to suck it up and read a J.R.R. Tolkien book. My next book is <em>The Silmarillion</em>. My Middle Earth history is pathetic and I need questions answered!</div>

Why hello there everyone! I have been crazy busy lately and just haven't found time to write a blog. So this is a quick update. I am home sick today. : ( I probably should take it easy more often than I do. I just am always feeling so restless! But I went to the doctor and found out I have a sinus infection and I got medicine. I was planning to write a longer blog earlier, but ended up sleeping a good part of the day. I didn't even read about any zombies or Westeros! I will probably do that later. I am just hoping the antibiotics I took will make me well by Thursday at midnight in time for THE HOBBIT!!!! If only I lived in Hobbiton..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>I will travel here one day (I hope)!</strong></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I will post a full review this weekend after I see this movie. A lot of my favorite shows have been wrapping up for the season too. This weekend marks the end of Dexter until the final season next year. OMG what is going to happen?! I think it's inevitable that someone is going to die. Everyone is hoping for La Guerta, but I think she is too obvious. I sort of give her kudos for FINALLY catching on. Maybe she isn't so sucky of a detective after all. I just hope nothing happens to my dear Masuka..he is so funny and I just love him. He has the best one-liners! Like that one about how his parents still thought he was retarded when he was sixteen..hilarious! But I really think the writers are trying to make us not like Dexter as much anymore. I am okay with that. It will make it easier for when he goes to prison with the death penalty for being, you know, a serial killer! That whole relationship with Hannah McKay was ridiculous and now she knows everything! I wonder how she is going to handle prison without an endless supply of sheer white tank tops and black bras?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-23-gnFAkVx8/UMkhAm7MvhI/AAAAAAAABFs/Fras8R6lc94/s1600/imagesCABZE0IO.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-23-gnFAkVx8/UMkhAm7MvhI/AAAAAAAABFs/Fras8R6lc94/s1600/imagesCABZE0IO.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Dexter what are you thinking?!</strong></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Although I am not a huge Hannah fan, I still don't think she poisoned Deb. Deb did that that shit herself! I think she put her anxiety medicine in her water bottle to make it look like Hannah did it. And Dexter fell for it. Deb has Lannister-like feeling for her brother. Even though they aren't REALLY brother and sister.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Are like these two? Maybe if Deb has her way!</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Needless to say, I can't wait until Sunday! Or Thursday..I am planning on a Hobbit and Dexter filled weekend! Just not together. Dexter better keep his plastic wrap away from Hobbiton!</div>

Check out these little joyous creatures that I saw on the HBO website!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c9_VyQPiGUI/ULV6fENxsuI/AAAAAAAABBc/5LJ-qAF-LpU/s1600/00428146-484977_catl_281.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c9_VyQPiGUI/ULV6fENxsuI/AAAAAAAABBc/5LJ-qAF-LpU/s1600/00428146-484977_catl_281.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How freaking cool are these guys?!! Well, except for that White Walker..that is weird and scary. Just like the real White Walkers! Speaking of zombies..well, zombie-like creatures anyway..I have a confession to make! I have taken a hiatus from <em>A Dance With Dragons </em>to read <em>World War Z</em>,<em> </em>which is about a zombie apocalypse. The good news is that I am flying through it and will be back to <em>ADWD </em>in no time at all. Maybe. I seriously don't know what the hell is wrong with me and why I can't get through this book. I am an admittedly slow reader, but I couldn't put down the first four <em>ASOIAF</em>. But I just can't seem to do it. It's not like it's not good. It's no <em>A Storm of Swords </em>or anything, but all my favorite characters are back and I should be tearing though it. But it's just kind of at a lull and nothing really seems to be happening. My beloved Tyrion is on the run and Dany is being reaaaaal boring in Meereen. Seriously, that girl has dragons and she is not really doing much of anything! I am sure it will get better. Well, maybe. I have spoiled myself on some of it and it seems like other reviewers agree with me. I still want to read it all though. I think I just need a break!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So back to <em>World War Z</em>. O.M.G.! What a fun read! I actually chose to read this book for a couple reasons. Yes, I know it's being made into a movie starring Brad Pitt, but that's not the reason. Although I will be seeing it (of course). I actually got a belated birthday present from my coworkers. They gave me a $25.00 gift card from Barnes and Noble and I was super happy! Now, I usually do all my reading on my Kindle (where <em>ADWD</em> currently awaits me). But with this card, I figured I might go crazy and buy an actual book book. One with pages and stuff! I usually only read fantasy/sci fi books. I am just drawn to that genre and am usually disappointed when I stray away. So I was looking for a good distraction, but not a whole series. So I did some researching and voila!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xSMF8_vsgVA/ULV_Cic8ajI/AAAAAAAABB4/72BQ4GPcmNM/s1600/World_War_Z_book_cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xSMF8_vsgVA/ULV_Cic8ajI/AAAAAAAABB4/72BQ4GPcmNM/s1600/World_War_Z_book_cover.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am very happy with this book so far. It reads like a documentary of a zombie war. It's very exciting and feels very current. Since the world is going to end in less in a month..duh!! LOL Just kidding, I totally don't believe that at all. And anyway, I wouldn't want to be one of the survivors of an apocalypse. It's too much trouble and I am not very tough. I would want to go out with the masses at the beginning! So I would totally be one of the zombies in this case. But zombies really don't seem hard to kill. Kind of like orcs in <em>Lord of the Rings</em>. Seriously, even I could kill an orc judging from what I've seen!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yo_zWuzBLmk/ULWALbu63kI/AAAAAAAABCA/tLT4e2TjD5M/s1600/lord-of-the-rings-orc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Yo_zWuzBLmk/ULWALbu63kI/AAAAAAAABCA/tLT4e2TjD5M/s1600/lord-of-the-rings-orc.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>I think this one went to my high school</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, that's all I have for tonight folks. I have to run to King Soopers for some food for the next couple of days. I am in a week-before-I-get-paid apocalypse and it's not pretty. Hopefully an Orc/Zombie/White Walker won't get me in the parking lot! Until next time!</div>

I STILL haven't finished <em>A Dance With Dragons</em> and I feel so ashamed. But I figure I have been distracted by other interests of mine. And that's okay! I still love <em>ASOIAF</em>, but I think I am putting <em>ADWD</em> down for awhile until I really, really want to read it (and I know I will). I don't want my profiles to become somewhat of a chore and I plan to finish them as soon as I feel more inspired. But for now, Beddee is interested in a variety of books, movies, tv shows and activities.<br />
<br />
Let's start with movies! I am pretty much obsessed with the new <em>Hobbit</em> movie coming out. I absolutely cannot wait for it. Let me give you a bit of background. I was obsessed with the <em>Lord of</em> <em>the Rings</em> movies when they came out. Like REALLY obsessed. I think I saw the second one 5 times at the theater alone. It was ridiculous. I even bought myself a replica of The One Ring! If I had written a blog then, Legolas would have been heavily featured.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="255" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PdS8GXkmwvo/UKr_6Xq4djI/AAAAAAAAA-w/1SK8Nmatdno/s320/Legolas_squinty.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>What a dreamy elf!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I am regressing back to this mindset when seeing previews and reading articles about <em>The Hobbit</em>. I rewatched the entire <em>LOTR</em> triology over the past two weekends to get myself hyped. And boy am I hyped! I took the day after the premiere off so I can go see it at midnight. I can't wait!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
OMG, I saw <em>Breaking Dawn Part 2 </em>over the weekend. Please don't judge me! I fully acknowledge that <em>Twilight</em> is crappy. But I still read all the books and I have seen every movie. I had to finish it up! I fully enjoyed the movie for what it was and am sad that poor Taylor Lautner will probably never act again now. He is such a bad actor! But I still love Jacob. Especially in this form:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oVC-uXYAV9Y/UKsI9nn7onI/AAAAAAAAA_k/8zmsQpSjDFw/s1600/Bella-Jacob-Wolf-Eclipse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="158" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oVC-uXYAV9Y/UKsI9nn7onI/AAAAAAAAA_k/8zmsQpSjDFw/s320/Bella-Jacob-Wolf-Eclipse.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DxH5dD-EEQw/UKsBvX8AKbI/AAAAAAAAA-4/cZtBuAqrVok/s1600/Bella-Jacob-Wolf-Eclipse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>A direwolf he is not!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong></strong> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Aww <em>Twilight</em> I will miss you. Not really. I read the entire series at one of my past jobs where I didn't have to do crap all day. I tried re-reading <em>New Moon</em> at one point and it wasn't happening. They are like book junk food. And stop right there if you think I would ever read that <em>50 Shades </em>tripe. Never!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Let's see, I am planning on seeing <em>Lincoln</em> tomorrow night and I loved <em>Wreck-It Ralph</em>. What a super cute movie!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DIf7OSJQb7U/UKsE5mDsXbI/AAAAAAAAA_U/W6B1EB4DKGk/s1600/Wreck-It%2520Ralph,%2520Vanellope%2520Von%2520Schweetz%2520and%2520Wreck-It%2520Ralph.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DIf7OSJQb7U/UKsE5mDsXbI/AAAAAAAAA_U/W6B1EB4DKGk/s320/Wreck-It%2520Ralph,%2520Vanellope%2520Von%2520Schweetz%2520and%2520Wreck-It%2520Ralph.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>I'm gonna wreck it!</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong></strong> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I see a lot of movies and just now saw that <em>Life of Pi </em>will be out this week as well. Sigh, I am going to be spending a lot of time in the theater. I will write a review of all of these movies!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But that's all I have for tonight. Sorry it's a bit short and not a real entry-entry. I am regrouping on this whole blog thing. But thanks for reading! I see I have gotten a lot of hits lately and I am so appreciative. And I am totally not abandoning <em>Game of Thrones </em>as it is still my favorite TV show and book series. I just need a little bit of a break. And I am trying to talk Saucer into watching the <em>LOTR </em>movies because she has NEVER seen them! What?!!! I am just beside myself. I am sort of getting into fanfiction too. Maybe I will be writing some here in the near future (or have I already..) ; )</div>

I have a couple of profiles stirring around in my mind (next one, JOFFREY)! But there are a couple of other things I want to write about too. This blog is mainly a celebration of my love for the ASOIAF series, but I also want to write about other things that have held my interest lately.<br />
<br />
These are (in no particular order):<br />
<strong></strong><br />
<strong>Dexter</strong>: (OMG this season has been amazing)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q8Hah_RwC1U/UJXQlZOcmhI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/KsaWx4mi5CA/s1600/Dexter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="165" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q8Hah_RwC1U/UJXQlZOcmhI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/KsaWx4mi5CA/s320/Dexter.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<strong></strong><br />
<strong>The Upcoming Hobbit Movie</strong>: (OMG I can't wait)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DyQMA0SZl4w/UJXQnGqbTRI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/4Na2OciQ6NM/s1600/Hobbit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DyQMA0SZl4w/UJXQnGqbTRI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/4Na2OciQ6NM/s1600/Hobbit.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>LOTR Triology</strong>: (I am re-watching all the movies and want to give everyone my thoughts).<br />
<strong></strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rz2IXEkpF8A/UJXQn9vY4NI/AAAAAAAAA8g/g9TjTTqTu24/s1600/LOTR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rz2IXEkpF8A/UJXQn9vY4NI/AAAAAAAAA8g/g9TjTTqTu24/s1600/LOTR.jpg" /></a></div>
<strong></strong><br />
<strong>Various Fantasy Book Series</strong>: (Now that I have almost finished ASOIAF, I need help deciding which to read next)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgmord3hEvQ/UJXQo09GAOI/AAAAAAAAA8o/Sa7OxaharE8/s1600/WheelOfTime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Sgmord3hEvQ/UJXQo09GAOI/AAAAAAAAA8o/Sa7OxaharE8/s320/WheelOfTime.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Is this series worth pursuing?</strong></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
And I always like to discuss celebrity gossip and other such nonsense! Of course, ASOIAF is the main squeeze, but I am veering off to discuss these other topics as well. If you would be so kind, please leave me feedback of what you would like me to write about. In the weeks ahead, I hope to hit all of these topics. I hope you like it!</div>

It breaks my heart just writing his name. The little Lord of Winterfell who loved to climb until he was thrown out a window by Mr. <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/jaime-lannister-kingslayer.html">Kingslayer</a> because Bran saw him having sex with his sister. As if THAT wasn't traumatic enough! And then he almost get killed again because of the same issue. The Lannister twins are worried he might remember the grossness of what he witnessed. And then it didn't even matter anyway because now EVERYONE knows about the incest (not that they can prove it). Here is a picture of Bran before his tragic crippling:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wU6cvqYSOso/UIX5gCfBcrI/AAAAAAAAA4Y/lbcVeizSC_Q/s1600/Bran.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wU6cvqYSOso/UIX5gCfBcrI/AAAAAAAAA4Y/lbcVeizSC_Q/s1600/Bran.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Bran is portrayed by Isaac Hempstead-Wright and he is absolutely perfect for the role. Check out his twitter page <a href="http://isaac%20hempstead-wright%20twitter/">here</a>. A "Simpson and Spongebob enthusiast"..how cute is he?! Before Bran's big fall, he gets his own direwolf along with the other Stark children. He calls his wolf Summer and boy is he loyal! He loves Bran so much and saves his life several times throughout the series. Check out this scene.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/utHcf2zm-es?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Catelyn is also pretty badass in this scene</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons to love Bran</strong>: What isn't there to love about Bran really? He actually has a pretty good attitude after getting crippled. He mopes around for awhile, but then he learns to ride a horse thanks to Tyrion. He loves it until he is almost killed by some wildlings. But he has another transportation system in Hodor the stableboy. He is strapped in a basket and carried around by Hodor (who is quite large). Hodor is a a simpleton and very loyal, but sometimes he forgets Bran is in the basket!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lt_wilY3JMo/UIX_G7iu1sI/AAAAAAAAA40/j_gtWYoiqcs/s1600/Hodor.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lt_wilY3JMo/UIX_G7iu1sI/AAAAAAAAA40/j_gtWYoiqcs/s1600/Hodor.jpg" /></a></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Hodor!!</strong><br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Poor Bran suffers a lot of hardships in his young life. As if it wasn't bad enough being crippled, he is left behind as his father and sisters all go to King's Landing. Granted, things don't turn out so well for them there (dead, a prisoner and a fugitive) but STILL! Bran really wanted to go. Then his mom takes off to avenge his window tossing. Soon after, his oldest brother Robb heads off to war to avenge Ned's death. So Bran is left as the oldest Stark living at Winterfell and he has to do a bunch of boring Lord stuff. He is only like seven or eight years old! And then, as we know, stupid <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/blog-post.html">Theon</a> decides to take over Winterfell. This leads to poor Bran and Rickon having to go on the run. Not only that, everyone thinks they are dead! And Bran has to do all this being carried around by Hodor! But he always seems tobe fairly cool about everything and I love it! Oh and he has a "warg" connection with his direwolf, Summer, which is pretty cool. He goes into some weird trance and is able to "become" Summer! This actually helps out him and his friends quite a bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Es0nUVywuVU/UIi005l7hnI/AAAAAAAAA6U/SnWvrk4BxpE/s1600/direwolf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Es0nUVywuVU/UIi005l7hnI/AAAAAAAAA6U/SnWvrk4BxpE/s1600/direwolf.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Woof!</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons to hate Bran</strong>: There is no reason to hate Bran, but sometimes I question his decisions. I don't really want to go into it right now (mainly because I still don't quite understand the whole thing), but Bran decides to go find the "three-eyed crow" because he dreams about it. That darn Jojen Reed talks him into it. I really like Jojen and his sister Meera. They help Bran and Hodor escape from Winterfell and prove to be great allies (Rickon goes another direction if they are caught, the two Stark boys won't be together). But Jojen is impressed with the Bran/Summer warg thing and figures out that Bran dreamt of the three-eyed crow. So they all decide to go seek out this crow and they don't really know where it is! I guess Bran thinks it will teach him to fly or something, which I guess is pretty cool. But wouldn't he rather go find his family to tell them he is alive? I know that really, really mean people are searching for him, but he could maybe make it happen. Poor Catelyn could really use some good news. And the three-eyed crow lives beyond The Wall where all the creepy dead things reside. They even run into Sam! But he is not allowed to tell Jon Snow that his little brother is alive. The whole thing is just weird (including the warg stuff) but I am sure there is a point to it. I am a slooooooow reader and I am thinking that Bran finds the three-eyed crow in <em>A Dance With Dragons</em>.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>High School</strong>: I am having a hard time picturing Bran in high school. I think he would just be a normal kid who got average grades and has lots of friends. He would most likely be in the school rock climbing club. Well, he would be until he saw the coach having an illicit affair and then he would get pushed off a rock!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Sticks Counterpart</strong>: Remember Saucer's post about <a href="http://sticksswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/jeff-skinner-carolina-hurricanes.html">Jeff Skinner</a>? We have our Bran! Two "babies" who have a lot of heart and strength!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ViWXj1Ww_D4/UIi7NcRNFtI/AAAAAAAAA64/McIMEJGXQTA/s1600/BranStark.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ViWXj1Ww_D4/UIi7NcRNFtI/AAAAAAAAA64/McIMEJGXQTA/s1600/BranStark.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Bran is dreaming he is a hockey player</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So this post is dedicated to my<span style="font-size: large;"> least</span> favorite character. I am not ashamed to admit that I would prefer to read chapters written from Joffrey's point of view than this boring priest or whatever he is supposed to be:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G0XZkDm4XyI/UIDLSgVWadI/AAAAAAAAA2w/rw19-sHrpXI/s1600/Aeron.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G0XZkDm4XyI/UIDLSgVWadI/AAAAAAAAA2w/rw19-sHrpXI/s1600/Aeron.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Ok I will admit he looks sort of cool here</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Maybe I am being a little too hard on him, but Aeron Greyjoy came along at exactly the wrong time for me. I'm not really the biggest fan of the Greyjoys in general. It took me awhile to warm up to <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/blog-post.html">Theon's</a> chapters. But his story did eventually become interesting. Plus, he interacted with familiar characters. It's not like I am racist again the Ironborn, but I just don't care so much about their plight or storylines. They are savage men of the sea and I really don't have a lot of interest in them. That said, I think their involvement WILL be important and I like Theon and Asha and am warming up to Victarion.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_PgjWJ1AHg/UIDOBA6W9KI/AAAAAAAAA3I/W6sbRuHi3UA/s1600/Game-of-Thrones-House-Greyjoy-.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_PgjWJ1AHg/UIDOBA6W9KI/AAAAAAAAA3I/W6sbRuHi3UA/s320/Game-of-Thrones-House-Greyjoy-.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But back to Aeron. He is Theon's uncle and the youngest brother of House Greyjoy. He apparently used to be a big drinker and could win pissing contests (seriously)! But after a near-death experience at see where he almost drowned (not to mention held prisoner by the Lannisters), he had a spiritual awakening. He now follows the "Drowned God", has long hippy-seaweed hair and drowns potential followers. Then he attempts to "revive" them with an old school CPR method. If he succeeds, they get to be his followers, called the "Drowned Men". Aeron himself is called "The Damphair". As I was searching for pictures to use for Damphair, I realized that he was on the show last season! Look at this:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--Xuf2EO40JQ/UIDQjfgaogI/AAAAAAAAA3g/4zLpxvZLxMg/s1600/Damphair.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="184" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--Xuf2EO40JQ/UIDQjfgaogI/AAAAAAAAA3g/4zLpxvZLxMg/s320/Damphair.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well I'll be damned! Was I falling asleep during this scene or something? Note to re-watch Season 2 now! I appears as though he is attempting to drown Theon in one of his stupid ceremonies. I don't remember this happening in the book, but who knows. They are long books and Theon's chapters (especially the early ones) sometimes bored the crap out of me. But I still don't think Theon was drowned. It doesn't mention it on the <a href="http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Aeron_Greyjoy">wiki</a> page so whatever!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons I hate Damphair</strong>: Now that I wrote his background, he actually is kind of interesting. But as I said before, he couldn't have come at a worse time. After the amazing <em>A Sword of Storms</em>, I was super excited for <em>A Feast for Crows</em>. Even though I had prepared myself in advance for NO Tyrion, NO Dany and NO Jon Snow, it was still tough. I didn't get to hang out with some of my favorites and spent too much time with others (Sam and Brienne). And to top it all off, we get saturated with two new Houses (Greyjoys and Martells). Of course I knew who they were, but I wasn't prepared to jump into their heads. They had been more or less in the background before. And the very first unfamiliar POV chapter was the Damphair and it was so boring. I am sorry to say it, but it really was super dull. I don't think I am alone. I have read on message boards that there are people who skipped the Damphair chapters, but I don't do that. I love these books and feel that everything is important, even if it's not my favorite. Plus, I am glad I kept reading because both the Ironborn and the Martell storylines came through (but not because of Damphair) and I like their chapters now. But that doesn't mean I still don't hate the damn Damphair. He is a hardass and humorless and seems like a real Debbie Downer. He hates his brother Euron and he organizes that whole Kingsmoot thing. I am too tired to go into that one! It will have to wait for another post. But Damphair disappears after the Kingsmoot and his fate is unknown. Bad for him, but good for me. We haven't had an Aeron Greyjoy chapter since!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--IKSuFQg9nM/UIDW3U8Y9rI/AAAAAAAAA38/CK7tnlwi1Ks/s1600/kingsmoot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--IKSuFQg9nM/UIDW3U8Y9rI/AAAAAAAAA38/CK7tnlwi1Ks/s320/kingsmoot.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Awesome artwork of the Kingsmoot</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons I love Damphair</strong>: Ugh I don't really like him at all. But I suppose he would be helpful to have around if you were about to drown and needed to come back to the light!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>The Rest</strong>: I am going to skip my high school and Sticks section tonight. Mainly because I am super tired but also because Damphair just isn't worth it. He is like some crazy born again dude who drowns people. It is hinted there is more to him, but we don't see it. And I don't want some poor hockey player to be stuck with Damphair as his Game of Thrones alter ego. That is just mean and unfair. Unless you can think of a good one? Saucer? Anyone? I didn't think so!</div>

There are lots of reasons behind this, mainly just plain being busy. Between my yoga/spinning classes and my birthday, I just haven't found time to blog. And..I am in the process of writing a book! I am so excited. Who knows if it'll be any good, but I am hoping for a hit! But there really is no excuse for my lack of blogging. And I got VERY inspired tonight because Saucer sent me the coolest gift ever. It is a crocheted Daenerys doll and her three baby dragons!! I would put a picture of them on here, but my camera is broken! I will post at a later time. So anyways, since I have already done a post on the <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/daenerys-targaryen-first-of-her-name.html">Mother of Dragons</a>, I have decided to dedicate a post to her beautiful babies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1UoHqAUJAlU/UHTdmal32iI/AAAAAAAAAyk/jVYy-7ykHnQ/s1600/dragons.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1UoHqAUJAlU/UHTdmal32iI/AAAAAAAAAyk/jVYy-7ykHnQ/s320/dragons.png" width="271" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>I think this is way cool artwork</strong></div>
<br />
Okay, so in ASOIAF dragons are the coolest. I'm sorry, but House Targaryen has the coolest mascot. I mean, direwolves and lions are pretty awesome but they can't top freaking dragons!! In the land of Westeros, dragons have been extinct for hundreds of years. And even then they were pretty rare. They belonged to House Targaryen who used them to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. They ruled Westeros for as long as anyone could remember. Even after real dragons became obsolete, the Targaryen's sat the Iron Throne until Robert Baratheon "stole" it. The only remains of dragons left were skulls and skeletons which were kind of like dinosaur bones. Oh, and there were also some dragon's eggs that were petrified into stones. Dany received three petrified dragon's eggs as a gift for her wedding to Khal Drogo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U5BHyD_r5xw/UHTiA-sniZI/AAAAAAAAAy8/iaORN8mfXdM/s1600/eggs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U5BHyD_r5xw/UHTiA-sniZI/AAAAAAAAAy8/iaORN8mfXdM/s1600/eggs.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Okay I am going to cut this short. Those dragon eggs don't stay eggs for long! I think Daenerys always knew they would hatch. <strong>Spoiler Alert</strong>: Our Khaleesi manages to hatch the eggs by putting that bitch Mirri Maz Duur on (sniff) Khal Drogo's funeral pyre after Mirri completely screws her over. Both her unborn child and Drogo are gone and Dany has nothing to lose. She sets the whole thing on fire (with Mirri Maz Duur alive) and steps into the flames herself. Because she exchanged life for life, the dragons were born! This scene is one the best in the whole series (my opinion).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/189NzdB1P14?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Dragons</strong>: These little baby dragons are adorable. We have the following:<br />
<br />
<u><span style="color: black;">Drogon</span></u>: The black one who is the largest and named after Dany's beloved Khal Drogo. Of course, he is also the most aggressive.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"><u>Rhaegal</u>:</span> The green one who is named after her brother Rhaegar Targaryen (who also was gone too soon).<br />
<br />
<u><span style="color: black;">Viserion</span></u>: The cream colored one who is named after her other brother <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/viserys-targaryen-blood-of-dragon.html">Viserys Targaryen.</a> Even though Viserys sucked, Dany felt that he still deserved to have a dragon named after him.<br />
<br />
As babies, all of the dragons are pretty easy to take care of and Daenerys can travel around with them without them being too dragon-like. Even though the dragons represent the Targaryens' and Dany's rise back to power, she still has a lot to do before heading back to Westeros. The dragons faithfully travel with their mother past the Red Waste, to Qarth and to Slaver's Bay. With the help of her dragons (especially Drogon) she manages to free a bunch of slaves and they think she is just great. Many of them decide to stay with her and be part of her army. Daenerys and her dragons are now in the city of Meereen where she is practicing being a Queen for her inevitable return to get her throne back. The dragons are an integral part of this. Without them, she would probably have a much more difficult time getting people to follow her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D8F6B6Bx-Yo/UHTtsYJ7hoI/AAAAAAAAAzU/FgdmYyuwsBk/s1600/Feed-Dragons.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D8F6B6Bx-Yo/UHTtsYJ7hoI/AAAAAAAAAzU/FgdmYyuwsBk/s320/Feed-Dragons.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Traveling through the Red Waste with dragons</strong></div>
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Dragons</strong>: As much as she needs the dragons, they also cause a lot of grief because people want to steal them all the time. Or they want to marry Dany because they want access to dragons and power through her. Because a <em>girl</em> can't rule alone! The dragons are also kind of hard to handle as they get older and larger. I am not too far into <em>A Dance with Dragons</em> but there is a rumor going around that Drogon ate a small child. I personally don't believe it, but I guess it could be true. They are dragons after all! So Dany has to chain up the other two while Drogon flies off in a teenage hissy fit. That's about all I know at this point (I am trying really hard not to spoil myself but oh well). I hope everything turns out okay with these guys because I just love dragons!<br />
<br />
<strong>Dragon Prophecy</strong>: So there is a prophecy that states that the dragon has three heads and this will conquer Westeros. One head is obviously Dany, but who are the other two who will help her? And will they ride the dragons into Westeros to take the Iron Throne? This is very fun to ponder and I am hoping the other two are <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/jon-snow-you-know-nothing.html">Jon Snow</a> (who may have Targaryen blood?) and <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/tyrion-lannister-former-hand-of-king.html">Tyrion</a>! That's my theory and I am sticking to it.<br />
<br />
<strong>High School and Sticks</strong>: I am totally going to skip the high school section tonight. These guys are dragons and there really are no counterparts to them. They are mythical deadly creatures and I don't think they would go to school anyway. I guess they could be weird Beavis and Butthead pyromaniacs who light things on fire in the Chemistry Lab. But other than that, no Dragon High (unless they were mascots).<br />
<br />
Which brings me to Sticks! Like I said in a previous post, I think the Detroit Red Wings would be the closest thing to a dragon mascot. Drogon even has red spinal plates!<br />
<br />

Our sweet, naive Ned who is always full of honor. I have held off for awhile, but I really feel I must tell his story. So according to his wiki page, Ned is in his mid-thirties. The eff? Apparently I am just about his same age then! Ha ha, well his portrayer on the show is older, Sean Bean! Of Lord of the Rings fame. I just love him!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l9QOicOas1U/UGUCyrS595I/AAAAAAAAAtE/8CVrdpO6ONw/s1600/ned.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l9QOicOas1U/UGUCyrS595I/AAAAAAAAAtE/8CVrdpO6ONw/s1600/ned.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>You have probably seen this iconic picture of our Ned in a Facebook meme</strong></div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
Here is what we already know: Ned is Lord of Winterfell and House Stark (basically the most important dude in the North). He is married to Catelyn of House Tully and has 5 kids with her (Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon). He also has one bastard son name Jon Snow who represents the ONLY time that Ned was ever dishonorable. But maybe not? <a href="http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jon_Snow/Theories">Jon Snow Theories</a> Ned is total besties with King Robert Baratheon and later Hand of the King (begrudgingly). Oh Ned! Why did you ever go to King's Landing in the first place?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ptTez4_MtwQ/UGUGZXLqtuI/AAAAAAAAAtc/6mG9gv7vKnc/s1600/king.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ptTez4_MtwQ/UGUGZXLqtuI/AAAAAAAAAtc/6mG9gv7vKnc/s1600/king.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<strong>Reasons to love Ned</strong>: So Ned is the character who is prepped as a hero and we love him from the very beginning. Yes, he cuts off that one Wall deserter's head....but that's his job and the guy had it coming! And he even does that honorably. He is a great dad and all his kids love him. As does his wife. Even though he was second choice after his brother Brandon, Catelyn and Ned are solid. Being best friends with the King also doesn't hurt Ned's status in the realm. King Robert wants to marry his son/heir Joffrey to Ned's daughter Sansa and he wants Ned to be the Hand of the King. Well, this is only after his current Hand, Jon Arryn, dies unexpectely. Ned is not planning to accept the offer, but does so after learning that Robert's wife and her family might have had something to do with the death. He worries about his friend's safety and goes to King's Landing with Sansa and Arya in tow. Bran was supposed to go as well, but we all know what happened there!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AioPTp2glbY/UGUJjrQedEI/AAAAAAAAAt0/Ja9ftMeVQCk/s1600/starks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AioPTp2glbY/UGUJjrQedEI/AAAAAAAAAt0/Ja9ftMeVQCk/s1600/starks.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>I love the Stark family!!</strong></div>
<br />
<strong>More reasons to love Ned</strong>: I am extending the love section because there is so much more to talk about. Ned is a great advisor to King Robert and gives his opinion even if it is unpopular. Like when Robert wants to have Daenerys killed because she is pregnant and he is scared she will come back to fight for the Iron Throne (not an entirely misguided fear). Ned would rather quit being the Hand if it means killing children. Ned is also a super sleuth. He is determined to find out the secret that got Jon Arryn killed and this gets him into a heap of trouble. Turns out, Arryn knew a secret! A big one! Guess what Robert..In the case of Joffrey and your other two children:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F-5iwEhXDMY/UGUMkyFlmmI/AAAAAAAAAuU/NWHvwbWh714/s1600/maury.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F-5iwEhXDMY/UGUMkyFlmmI/AAAAAAAAAuU/NWHvwbWh714/s1600/maury.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's true! Joffrey is totally not Robert's heir. I don't see how no one figured this out earlier. But they don't have DNA technology in Westeros. They have to rely on the fact that Joffrey is "yellow of hair" and Robert is "black of hair". But all this aside. Joffrey is the product of twincest! His father is his Uncle Jaime!! Now THAT is a good episode of Maury.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons to hate Ned</strong>: So it didn't take long for Ned to find out Cersei's deep dark secret. It is what he DOES with this information that makes one wonder if Ned is right in the head. He should have held onto it until the right time came to expose her to Robert. But no, he decides the honorable thing to do is tell CERSEI he knows..and she readily admits everything!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/U6MZvK02vX0?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So now does he REALLY think Cersei is going to run off with her kids and never look back? Nope, Cersei uses this time to orchestrate Robert's death and letting Joffrey take the Iron Throne with herself as Queen Regent. And she finds out Ned is planning on heading back to Winterfell (thank you, <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/sansa-stark-princess-of-winterfell.html">Sansa</a>) so she has him arrested for treason (thank you, <a href="http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jon_Snow/Theories">Littlefinger</a>). Ned really isn't supposed to die. Cersei just wants him to confess that he is a traitor and send him to The Wall. Poor honorable Ned wants to refuse, but decides that he will do it for his children. And then. AND THEN! Stupid bat-shit, incest-for-brains Joffrey chops off his head anyway. Even after promising Sansa that he definitely would not chop off her dad's head! So that's that for Ned Stark. Very shocking scene to everyone. Ned was supposed to win everything. Instead, he gets bested by a 13 year old snot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8UmX6mg835U/UGUSiAwWpvI/AAAAAAAAAus/MEwG8vCDkN8/s1600/joffrey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8UmX6mg835U/UGUSiAwWpvI/AAAAAAAAAus/MEwG8vCDkN8/s1600/joffrey.jpg" /></a></div>

<strong>Everybody Hates Joffrey</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<strong>High School</strong>: Ned would just be a cool guy that everyone loved. Probably on the football team, though not the star player. He would have a nice, steady girlfriend and people would always go to him for advice. His best friend would be the star football player who would be dating the hottest girl in school. Ned finds out she is cheating on him and decides to tell her that he knows rather than telling his friend. She turns against him and gets the entire school to think he is a liar. He would be banished from popular society and eat lunch alone until college.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: Well, Saucer already covered this one! Ned would totally be <a href="http://sticksswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/brian-campbell-florida-panthers.html">Brian Campbell</a> of the Florida Panthers! If you haven't read her post yet, be sure to do so. Brian is very Nedd-ish and full of honor. You have to love the good guy (even though George RR Martin clearly does not)! We need a hockey team called the Direwolves with Brian as captain!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sigh, I suppose there's always a glimmer of hope that Ned will come back as a zombie or something (like a certain other character who I won't mention just yet..) But even a zombie would have a hard time without a damn head! Ugh, Joffrey!!</div>

Maybe even some dragons! So far, only Lena Headey (Cersei) has surfaced. Well, the only one I can find a picture of! I will be updated as I see pictures to post. I know our man Peter Dinklage is there somewhere. I want Seacrest to interview him!<br />

To me, he is a strong voice of reason in this crazy world. He is dutiful and does what he is told. He never forgets where he came from and tries to give advice when he knows there's trouble brewing. Davos is one of my favorite characters. He is quite subtle, but very important. I was actually planning on doing the post on Wednesday, in honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day. Davos is pretty much a pirate isn't he? Here is a picture of our guy, played by Liam Cunningham (who seems very familiar to me, what else has he been in?). He has a Twitter and it pretty much rocks. Follow him at <a href="https://twitter.com/liamcunningham1">https://twitter.com/liamcunningham1</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ib0Rwr7jVYo/UF5CqYqJn3I/AAAAAAAAAmY/rqcOxfazAv4/s1600/davos.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ib0Rwr7jVYo/UF5CqYqJn3I/AAAAAAAAAmY/rqcOxfazAv4/s1600/davos.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
All right, so a bit of historical background. Davos is of a very low birth (Flea Bottom) and lived a life of hardship. It led to him becoming a smuggler, a very good smuggler! He sailed the seas on a ship named Black Betha (love it), married and had seven sons. But Davos' greatest acheivement comes during Robert's Rebellion and the Siege of Storm's End, Davos smuggled food (mostly onions) to the castle where Stannis Baratheon and his men were held. It ensured that they wouldn't starve until Ned Stark got there to end the siege. As a reward, Stannis knighted him and he earned the nickname the Onion Knight. Stannis, a just man, also felt he needed to be punished for his past crimes. Davos had to cut off the first joints of the fingers of his left hand. Davos just LOVED this punishment and wanted Stannis to cut off the fingers. He wears the joints in a pouch around his neck because he believes they are lucky. His service to Stannis assures him and his family a proper future. Stannis and Davos are total besties.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sBV12QYF0lw/UF5H2Bc2hAI/AAAAAAAAAmw/P_q7HY7wH2A/s1600/ds.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sBV12QYF0lw/UF5H2Bc2hAI/AAAAAAAAAmw/P_q7HY7wH2A/s1600/ds.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>Reasons to Love Davos</strong>: I will have to go into Stannis in another post, but I will just say that he isn't a very lovable guy. He is all business and absolutely no pleasure. Even his brother, King Robert, doesn't particularly care for him. Everyone loves Renly, the littlest Baratheon brother. When it comes time for a new king, both Stannis and Renly want that throne. And honestly, Stannis really does have the better claim but that darn Renly is so charming and handsome. The only one Stannis can rely in his loyal knight Davos. Davos is there til death do they part. His loyalty is pretty much unmatched by any character. Stannis knows he can trust Davos and gets his advice for everything. And Davos doesn't lie. Stannis has an interesting ally in a witchy red woman named Melisandre. Davos does NOT like this woman and tries his damndest to make Stannis see that she is nothing but trouble. Especially with her wacky new religion that Stannis embraces. Davos never truly accepts this religion, but remains loyal to Stannis. Even when he gets stuck in a cave with Melisandre and she gives birth to a shadow assassin (wtf?!) Seriously, watch this video, it's only a minute. Yes, she is naked (it's HBO)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/PgCXQ6O3D20?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
This same shadow assassin will later go on to kill Renly!! Noooooo! Davos is so right not to trust her. Stannis is mad at his pesky little brother, but I doubt he wanted him dead. Not until Melisandre came along anyway. Davos spends much of the books trying to make Stannis see that Melisandre sucks and is evil. Too bad Melisandre can read minds and knows Davos is out to get her. Ugh, she is lame. But really, really pretty and Stannis is totally under her spell.<br />
<br />
Davos also is illiterate, but learns to read. And by doing this, he reads a letter from The Wall and finds out they are being attacked and encourages Stannis to help. This really helps Stannis' cause (you don't see Joffrey at The Wall) so yay for Davos!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to Hate Davos</strong>: There is no reason to hate Davos. I guess he didn't do so hot during the Battle of Blackwater, but that wasn't his fault. That darn Tyrion and his wildfire. He really did a number on Davos' ships!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iRA-Zn3GPUg/UF5Mlo6TBUI/AAAAAAAAAnI/7XpTVGj0CJg/s1600/wildfire.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iRA-Zn3GPUg/UF5Mlo6TBUI/AAAAAAAAAnI/7XpTVGj0CJg/s320/wildfire.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Oh Crap!</strong></div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
Davos is just such an easy person to like. He is loyal, but questions authority in a reasonable manner. He is honest and is a voice of reason for Stannis. I feel like he represents the "everyman" in the ASOIAF universe. He is easy to relate to and you can't help but root for him..even if you are not on Stannis' side (which I am not). That's what I love about these books. It makes it hard to decide what you want to happen! Like during the Battle of Blackwater, you really do want Stannis to win because Joffrey sucks. But if Joffrey loses, Tyrion might get killed. So you find yourself rooting for Tyrion, but then you see that poor Davos is on those boats. I am just so conflicted!</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>High School</strong>: This one is hard because in order to figure out Davos, you have to figure out Stannis first. I don't thing Stannis would even be a student. He would be a scary math teacher that everyone hates, and Davos is his star pupil! Davos would start out as a terrible student who hangs out with the wrong crowd. Stannis would see something in him and force him to study until Davos becomes a math genius. Stannis is a mean, but fair teacher and Davos would respect him and defend him to all the other students. It would be very "Dangerous Minds".</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: Since we are talking loyalty, Davos would totally be Ian<strong> </strong>Laperrière. "Lappy" is super loyal to his team and teammates and is very popular with fans for this reason. He was popular on the Avalanche team, but eventually moved to the Flyers (Saucer, I did my research and I bet you love him)! Lappy is loyal to a fault like Davos and has taken a bunch of hits in the face by pucks that were meant for teammates. Like Davos' finger stumps, these injuries have taken a toll on him. He had to retire early due to head injuries. He is now a mentor to young players who will hopefully appreciate his team loyalty.</div>

What is strange is that I really didn't like him in the books..even HATING him at times. However, TV show Theon is doing a great job of making me like him. For me TV Theon > Book Theon. In part due to his portrayer, Alfie Allen.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2j01T5onxno/UFZZFxcgEwI/AAAAAAAAAjY/enR2I_XLHsM/s1600/theon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2j01T5onxno/UFZZFxcgEwI/AAAAAAAAAjY/enR2I_XLHsM/s1600/theon.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Theon is always pissed off</strong></div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now don't get me wrong, I still think Theon is a huge dickhead. The things he does are horrible and inexcusable. But his history explains his actions somewhat. Plus I am currently reading "A Dance With Dragons" and..POOR THEON!! No one deserves what he is currently going through. Effing Ramsay Bolton.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So a bit of background for this complex guy: Theon is the heir to the Iron Islands and House Greyjoy. The Greyjoys are hardcore sailors and really, really mean. Not long before the beginning of the books, they tried to break away from the seven kingdoms and be independent. They totally rebelled against the Iron Throne, but ultimately lost to Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark. Balon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, surrendered and gave up his only surviving son (Theon) to Ned Stark as a hostage. This was to ensure he wouldn't attack a second time.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Except being a "hostage" at Winterfell really isn't that bad of a gig. Ned Stark, being Ned-ish, is very kind to Theon and he is raised as one of his own. Theon and Robb are very close and think of each other as brothers. He fights with Jon Snow a lot, but Jon is all moody anyway. Other than that, Theon is loyal to the Starks and even fights by Robb's side when the War begins. Robb has a great idea to release Theon to go to his father to ask for help fighting against the Lannisters. And what a horrible decision! Theon ends up bullying poor little crippled Bran and taking over Winterfell! What a douche.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons to love Theon</strong>: Well, there honestly isn't much to love about Theon except that you do feel sorry for him. I think he really would like to remain loyal to the Starks, especially Robb, but his desire to impress his father is just too much. When he returns to his father, he is greeted with anything but a warm welcome. His father thinks he is a lost cause and the Starks have tainted him beyond repair. And he absolutely does NOT want to help Robb in the war. Theon also gets to meet his sister, Asha (the show renames her Yara). Check out this exchange.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/XyfVcwzq7zs?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Asha/Yara totally tricked him into being like the Lannister twins! She does this to humiliate him. Asha/Yara is the dad's favorite now. I actually must commend the Ironborn for taking women seriously. She and the father both see her as the new heir and Theon feels like an outcast. He is given a ship called Sea Bitch (ha!) and he is not taken seriously as captain. In order to gain respect, Theon feels he must do something drastic to show his dad he is his true heir. Ugh, you can almost hear that one whiny Simple Plan song "Perfect" playing in the background of Theon/Balon scenes.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Reasons to hate Theon</strong>: So Theon's awesome idea for impressing his stupid dad (who's mind is clearly made up)? Well, to take over Winterfell! And with Ned dead (R.I.P.), Robb off to war and Jon Snow at The Wall, the one holding Winterfell is Bran. Yes, little crippled Bran and six year old Rickon are the only Starks at Winterfell when Theon comes to attack. And the sad thing is, Theon can't even do that right! Bran and Rickon escape and everyone just laughs at him. In desperation, he finds to miller's boys and pretends like they are Bran and Rickon and hangs them. He covers them in tar so no one knows the truth.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lvwXbNfXqX4/UFZiQwZY5gI/AAAAAAAAAjw/m6B6I5nkkJ0/s1600/br.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lvwXbNfXqX4/UFZiQwZY5gI/AAAAAAAAAjw/m6B6I5nkkJ0/s1600/br.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Not our boys, but still sad to kill children!</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
The thing is, no one knows the truth. Catelyn and the rest of the Starks truly believe Bran and Rickon are dead and it's heartbreaking. It even leads Catelyn to make the moronic decision to let Jaime Lannister go free. So Theon causes a lot of damage. Even his sister thinks he sucks at decision-making. He asks for her help and she refuses. So Theon's decision alienates him from both his father and the Stark's sides. He is screwed. It gets worse when Ramsay Bolton comes along and burns down Winterfell and takes Theon prisoner. This is where I am in the books. Theon is being tortured horribly by Ramsay and it's actually quite sad. If only he would have stayed and helped Robb. : (</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<strong>High School</strong>: Theon would totally be a wannabe gangster in high school. You know the type! He would act all thuggish when he was really just a big wuss that lives in a nice neighborhood. Let's just say he'd be pretty fly for a white guy! Ha ha. He would talk a lot of crap, but be scared to back it up. He would pick on people weaker than him to prove his so-called bad ass behavior. As for girls, he would be a total player and be known to "hit it and quit it". He would start out high school with some nice friends from his childhood. He would then totally ditch them to gain approval from the cool gangster crowd. And he would not impress them in the least! He would also get beat up a lot by this same crowd. High school Theon would totally suck at life!</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<strong>Let's Mix In Some Sticks</strong>: Poor Saucer. I just want to say that I am heartbroken for her over the lockout. She is seriously one of the biggest hockey fans I have ever known and now she doesn't have a season to look forward to. I feel so bad! I have never watched hockey, but I was planning on it this year. But now I can't and I am sad! But not as sad as poor Saucer. At least we have the blog to comfort us! And I am recommending that she read ASOIAF to occupy her mind during this difficult time. : )</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
But back to Theon and his hockey counterpart. I say it would be Sean Avery. He is know for making some asshole remarks and is not well liked by many of his teammates. Like Theon, he has a hard time fitting in but probably is misunderstood in a lot of ways. The both make up their own rules (see: The Sean Avery Rule) and things don't really work out for them. He also <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/petyr-baelish-littlefinger.html">bullies</a> other players like Theon bullied Bran. Sean is now retired because no one wants him on their team. Hopefully he won't suffer the same fate as Theon in the torture dungeon!</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">

I blame the onslaught of new televison shows (and old favorites) distracting me from precious blogging time. They aren't Game of Thrones, but there are some pretty entertaining shows out there. But..I am back! And I have decided to profile the one Littlefinger. Behold!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2MnChWmJpBE/UFP4yVYV9DI/AAAAAAAAAhc/J6Z2dEfDd44/s1600/lf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2MnChWmJpBE/UFP4yVYV9DI/AAAAAAAAAhc/J6Z2dEfDd44/s1600/lf.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Ick, look at that smug face! Now I am not the biggest Littlefinger fan, but I do admit that he makes things interesting. His real name is Petyr (with a y) Baelish but no one seems to call him that. They call him Littlefinger, but I can't really figure out why. Something to do with his family holdings or whatever. One ASOIAF website claims it is because he is short, but that is just stupid..I don't know. I will just go with it! Littlefinger is very smart with money and even becomes Master of Coin for the King at one point. He owns a bunch of brothels, which makes him a whole lot of money. Despite the fact that his family is pretty low on the totem poll, he manages to become the Lord of Harrenhal AND Lord Protector of the Vale. Not bad Littlefinger! He is also hopelessly in love with Catelyn Stark, almost to an obsessive point. Too bad she is already married to our hero, Ned.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o9e39LXkvHQ/UFP7UdJGDsI/AAAAAAAAAhw/eji-wrBM8OE/s1600/nc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o9e39LXkvHQ/UFP7UdJGDsI/AAAAAAAAAhw/eji-wrBM8OE/s1600/nc.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>One Solid Couple</strong></div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
Back in the day, Catelyn and LF were very close and he wanted to marry her. But she only thought of him as a friend and was betrothed to Brandon Stark (Ned's brother). Our man Littlefinger challenged him to a duel for her hand and promptly lost. Catelyn was pissed and didn't talk to him for a long time. Not even when Brandon died and she married Ned instead. She eventually forgave him though and he later extended his Catelyn crush to Sansa. Hey, if you can't have the mom, how about her 13 year old daughter? Sansa wasn't into it either. Sigh, but there IS one person of Tully blood who just loves Littlefinger. Lysa! She of the creepy breastfeeding.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HYBYyldvWeI/UFP9DBbVcWI/AAAAAAAAAh4/DOyzWLzgnFM/s1600/imagesCA00ORHM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HYBYyldvWeI/UFP9DBbVcWI/AAAAAAAAAh4/DOyzWLzgnFM/s1600/imagesCA00ORHM.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Shudder</strong><strong> (no offense to the actress)</strong></div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
Though he does eventually use her crush to his advantage, Lysa is no Catelyn or Sansa!!</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>Reasons to love Littlefinger</strong>: Well I suppose Littlefinger should be commended for getting Sansa out of Kings Landing. She would have had a tough time without him. And he is helping her become a stronger and more powerful woman. He is also cunning, smart and witty. And I think he is under the radar so no one really considers him a threat. They underestimate him and I feel that is a mistake. Plus, without him, where would Tyrion find all the good whores? No one runs a brothel like Littlefinger! He is like the Hugh Hefner of Westeros.</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>Reason to hate Littlefinger</strong>: Ugh, he totally betrayed Ned Stark!! Damn him.</div>
<div align="left">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
<strong>Why is Joffrey always everywhere?</strong></div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
This reason alone should make me hate him for the whole rest of the series, but I just can't. I am sure old Ned is spinning (headless) in his grave knowing that Littlefinger has his daughter. But hopefully it will all work out. Littlefinger also kills with no emotion. If someone needs to be dead to suit his agenda, he kills them (or has them killed) without shedding one tear. So he is really like a Hugh Hefner/Dexter hybrid!</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>High School</strong>: Littlefinger would totally be that guy who is always hanging out with the cool kids, but no one can remember how he got popular. With the ability to manipulate the majority of the the student body, he would quickly gain more and more popularity until he was prom king. Although the popular girls would like him, it would only be on a friendly level and never romantic. He would have to settle for the slutty girls who would flock to his side. No one throws a better high school party than Littlefinger. Girls, booze and bling would flow everywhere. Speaking of bling, high school Littlefinger would be covered with it! And he would have a chain wallet.</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: Biznasty, Littlefinger would be Biznasty (real name: Paul Bissonnette) 100%. Both have a dumb nicknames and both think they are super clever. I only really know about Biznasty through Twitter and he comes off as very arrogant. If Littlefinger had the technology to tweet, he would be just like him. Although I don't know a lot about his hockey playing skills, his wiki page doesn't boast a whole lot. So I am thinking he isn't the best player out there. Littlefinger wouldn't be either. They both rely on their so-called wit and charm to gain popularity. Biznasty should go to Westeros and hang out in one of Littlefinger's brothels!</div>

But she is also one of my favorites. Maybe it's because I can identify with her even though her actions cause a chain of events that totally ruin everything! I give you the infamous Sansa!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a-fKFXQtmrU/UE0erAP_hjI/AAAAAAAAAd8/qwa2ys6oUzY/s1600/sansa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a-fKFXQtmrU/UE0erAP_hjI/AAAAAAAAAd8/qwa2ys6oUzY/s1600/sansa.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Sansa always looks sad, but for good reason. Her life kind of sucks for the majority of the series. But it's all her own doing so it's hard to feel sorry for her. Except, I still do. I think she gets more than her fair share of karma for her mistakes. And it was all because of a stupid boy! This guy:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DMRQBaHKWxM/UE0fFmiJy8I/AAAAAAAAAeE/s--2hm_3_6w/s1600/Joffrey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DMRQBaHKWxM/UE0fFmiJy8I/AAAAAAAAAeE/s--2hm_3_6w/s1600/Joffrey.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Ha ha, this picture rules</strong></div>
<br />
I really like the actress who plays Sansa, it would be a tough (though fun) role to play. She is played by Sophie Turner who actually has a twitter account! Follow her here: <a href="https://twitter.com/Sophiee_Turner">https://twitter.com/Sophiee_Turner</a>. But be warned that she is 16 and like <a href="https://twitter.com/Maisie_Williams">Maisie Williams</a> before her, she will make you feel old! I read an article that tells how she she adopted the dog that plays her ill-fated direwolf, Lady. This gets her extra bonus points from me..check out this adorable picture of the two of them. Awww!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZNvCkmtWpFE/UE0geraomfI/AAAAAAAAAeM/sMRglEMjqJQ/s1600/imagesCALL4FKC.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZNvCkmtWpFE/UE0geraomfI/AAAAAAAAAeM/sMRglEMjqJQ/s1600/imagesCALL4FKC.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So Sansa starts out with a pretty sweet life. She is the eldest daughter of Lord Eddard (Ned) and Catelyn Stark and is a lady in every sense of the word. She is quite the opposite of her little sister Arya and only wants to possess all the qualities of a young female of her status. She enjoys singing, dancing, embroidery and all other "womanly" activities. But most of all, Sansa likes BOYS! She loves tales of famous knights and dreams of great romance. She is a lot like Saucer in that she develops a huge crush on Ser Loras Tyrell, the Knight of Flowers.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pvWWwHpJPzQ/UE0i-iscD_I/AAAAAAAAAec/hYlv4k0ANTg/s1600/loras.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pvWWwHpJPzQ/UE0i-iscD_I/AAAAAAAAAec/hYlv4k0ANTg/s1600/loras.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Swoon!! Sansa = Saucer</strong></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
But what Sansa wants most is to be married to her betrothed, Prince Joffrey (heir to the Iron Throne). But things go south, Joffrey shows his true colors and she ends up married to <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/tyrion-lannister-former-hand-of-king.html">Tyrion</a>..wtf?!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Sansa</strong>: Sansa turns out to be a pretty cool chick and is very smart. Although she ends up as a prisoner, she manages to act the part of a proper lady who is beyond thrilled to marry Joffrey even though he..uh, you know what he does to her daddy Ned. I am not even going to say it! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/nRoVIpczcrY?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
I must say that Sansa holds up very well considering the circumstances. If it were me, I would have curled up in a little ball and gotten my own head chopped off for trying to kill Joffrey. I just hate that kid! Sansa has to learn how to survive on her own and is plotting her escape throughout the books and is eventually successful. Granted she has to trust that darn Littlefinger, but at least she is better off with him than at King's Landing. Sansa turns the head of many an old dude. We have already discussed her weird relationship with <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/09/sandor-clegane-hound.html">The Hound</a>, but Littlefinger also has a little thing for her. Plus, she is forced to marry Tyrion (more on that in a different post). Luckily, Tyrion is super cool about the whole thing and treats her kindly and she doesn't even have to have sex with him. Thank goodness for his whores! Judging by the end of the fourth book, I am also thinking that Sansa might now be a player (rather than a pawn) in the game of thrones! Go Sansa!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Sansa</strong>: Okay so everything I said in the love section..all of it is Sansa's own stupid fault! She has such a one track mind about marrying Joffrey that she fails to listen to her dad about leaving King's Landing. She is pretty mean to Arya too and is always making fun of her for being a tomboy. Plus, she STILL likes Joffrey even though she sees first hand that he is a big, huge jerk when he has her direwolf killed. But the worst part about Sansa is that she tells freaking Cersei, of all people, of her father's plan to send her and Arya home. This one idiotic move causes a chain of events where all goes to hell and Sansa ends up in her predicament. Way to be a rebel, Sansa, look what you have done!<br />
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: Oh weren't all us girls just like Sansa in high school? She would be a sweet, pretty girl who would be super interested in boys. Sansa's crushes would range from the popular jocks to the class president. She would put her interest in boys above all else, but would have a close group of girlfriends (also very interested in the opposite sex). Her little sister would be a pest and embarrass her in front of her many crushes. Although she loves her family, Sansa would be a bit of a rebel and stay out too late on her dates.
But the worst thing: She would end up dating the cute and horrible son of her dad's boss, tells a secret and get her dad fired!! Oh Sansa..<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: Well obviously Sansa would never EVER play hockey herself. She is far too ladylike for that. She would totally be the head of all trophy wives, Carrie Underwood! Carrie is married to Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators and is probably the most known hockey wife. Although Sansa is not a huge singing sensation like Carrie, she has been known to charm people with her voice. Carrie and Sansa are both beautiful and smart and have had many suitors. I could totally see Sansa cheering on her hockey husband like Carrie. This is, of course, if her husband is NOTHING like Joffrey (which I am assuming Mike Fisher is not).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lXz2WSk_wv4/UE0rpxkMXII/AAAAAAAAAew/HasoLmmcLEo/s1600/carrie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lXz2WSk_wv4/UE0rpxkMXII/AAAAAAAAAew/HasoLmmcLEo/s1600/carrie.jpg" /></a></div>

I think we are being set up to hate the guy. Maybe I just try to see the good in people (except Joffrey, The Mountain and Qyburn), but I don't think Sandor is heartless. Maybe just misunderstood? He is such an enigma! Is he bad? Is he good? Is he a pervy chimo? Is he not a pervy chimo? Is he dead? Is he alive? I could go on and on! But the thing is..I don't know the answer to any of these questions! One thing we can all agree on. The Hound is one ugly dude. (No offense to his portrayer, Rory McCann, who is quite lovely in real life).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s7NDj78KmFc/UEbLatrO-qI/AAAAAAAAAaw/9QL4hPjTBTg/s1600/hound.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s7NDj78KmFc/UEbLatrO-qI/AAAAAAAAAaw/9QL4hPjTBTg/s1600/hound.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
To be fair, Sandor probably wouldn't be so ugly if half his face wasn't burnt off. He is quite sensitive about this. It was burnt by his brother (the truly evil Gregor aka The Mountain) when he was a child. His dad covered up this fact by saying that Sandor was burnt by his bedding when it caught on fire. This makes Sandor hate his brother, fire and even knighthood. One could say he has a big old chip on his shoulder. People call him The Hound for a variety of reasons. One is only because his family's crest is 3 dogs. Oh and his helmet looks like this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ztBo_fKRcZM/UEbMzg_QRcI/AAAAAAAAAa4/lcxc3qnn7os/s1600/300px-The_Hound's_Helmet.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ztBo_fKRcZM/UEbMzg_QRcI/AAAAAAAAAa4/lcxc3qnn7os/s1600/300px-The_Hound's_Helmet.png" /></a></div>
<br />
The Hound is considered a great fighter, but refuses to be a knight because he thinks it's lame or something. He instead joins House Lannister where Joffrey just loves him. He is also called The Hound because of his obedience to his masters. Ugh, obedient to Joffrey..I can't even think about it!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Sandor</strong>: I am going to do the hate section first again because I believe we are supposed to hate The Hound. Although not as bad as his brother, he is pretty brutal and murders without having a major problem with it. He earns a place on <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/arya-stark-future-assassin.html">Arya's death list</a> when he kills her friend Mycah, the butcher's boy. He does this for Joffrey's benefit and it's really mean. He also helps kill Ned Stark's entourage and doesn't seem to feel bad about any of his murders. It's just something he does. He later kidnaps Arya and they have quite an adventure. He is also a huge drunk and gets really sloppy a lot of the time.<br />
<br />
<strong>Sansa Stark</strong>: I am putting the Sansa situation in the middle of my love and hate section because I really don't know what to think about it. The Hound takes a liking to Sansa (who is 13), but it's really not clear why. We only get Sansa's point of view and she doesn't have the best memory or sense. He calls her "little bird" and protects her from Joffrey's wrath whenever possible. He also saves her from being raped from an angry mob. After the Battle of Blackwater, there is a bit of an incident with the two of them when Sandor is planning to escape. Sansa seems to think they kiss but I don't think they actually do. Fans call this the <a href="http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/UnKiss">UnKiss</a>. Me, I honestly don't think Sandor is a pervert. I think he likes Sansa because she is beautiful and delicate and he wants to protect her. He is a little crazy and probably scares her, but I really don't think he wants to do her any harm. It's so weird because they are HUGE in the fanfiction community! I suppose he is better than Joffrey!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xejdZIhKAwM/UEbTBKSK3VI/AAAAAAAAAbM/QNEOqT6BZ-c/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xejdZIhKAwM/UEbTBKSK3VI/AAAAAAAAAbM/QNEOqT6BZ-c/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>And the FF community goes wild!</strong></div>
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love the Hound</strong>: This one is for you Saucer! The Hound totally saves Loras from his terrible brother The Mountain. This alone should make Sandor A-Ok. Loras would most likely be dead if it wasn't for him. Check it out here:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/VaIwtO6VWCU?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
Another great reason to like The Hound is the fact that he ditches Joffrey after the Battle of Blackwater and tells him to fuck off. Ha ha, he has go on the run after that, but it was so worth it! Poor guy was scared of the wildfire and you can't blame him for that.<br />
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: Can you say emo kid?! Oh Sandor would totally be emo. He wouldn't like the popular kids at all and would be against organized sports. He is not good looking and would have scars all over his face. His brother would be a huge bully and he is embarrassed by him. As for friends, he wouldn't really have any. He might hang out with one asshole brat in one of his classes from time to time, but wouldn't really like him. He would drink heavily by himself during lunch and rarely make it to class. Teachers hate Sandor for getting into a ton of fights and he would always be getting suspended. Sandor is older than the other students due to being held back a lot. He would have a crush on a popular girl who was polite to him a couple times, but he never asks her out. And other girls would never even look twice at him. Aww, Sandor's high school life is totally depressing me! But it's spot on. Hmm, let's make him have something happy in his life. I know! He would volunteer at the animal shelter and taking the dogs for walks. That's all I got!<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: First of all, we will just have to pretend Sandor would actually be on a real hockey team in the first place. Realistically, he would probably just be the best street hockey player in his neighborhood. But since I need to pick out a player he is like, I would probably go with Zdeno Chára of the Boston Bruins. This guy has the brutality and attitude of The Hound. I am going to zero in on the <span class="mw-headline" id="Pacioretty_Incident">Pacioretty Incident in which Chára injured another hockey player named Max <span class="mw-headline" id="Pacioretty_Incident">Pacioretty during a game. This poor guy was left with a severe concussion and cracked vertebra thanks to Chára. The police were even investigating it for awhile! But Chára didn't really seem all that put out or sorry about it. He seemed to think that it was just part of the game so whatever. <span class="mw-headline" id="Pacioretty_Incident">Pacioretty = The Butcher's Boy. Let's put him on Arya's list! Sam is a subtle character, but proves to be very important. Those new to watching Game of Thrones best know him as that fat kid who is always hanging out with Jon Snow. They would not be wrong. Sam considers Jon his "bestie" and is always wandering around Castle Black and beyond with him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lwml3FAIa8M/UEQELrgAibI/AAAAAAAAAYY/KasMgUaGAy0/s1600/samandjon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lwml3FAIa8M/UEQELrgAibI/AAAAAAAAAYY/KasMgUaGAy0/s1600/samandjon.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>BFFs 4 Life</strong></div>
<br />
Poor Sam. He is really fat, really cowardly and his backstory just about breaks my heart. Sam's father is Lord Randyll Tarly. As you can tell by his name, he is very important since he is a Lord and all. Lord Randyll had high hopes for Sam, his heir. But Sam was never interested in fighting or violence. He prefers reading, art and music. This frustrated his dad to no end and tried to toughen him several times to no avail. When he eventually had another son who was more to his liking, he decided to make the younger son his heir instead. So he told Sam to join the Night's Watch. It was that, or he would see that Sam suffered an unfortunate hunting "accident". Nice dad. Sam decided that he was too young to die, so he headed on up to The Wall and he was scared to death. Here is where he suffers many rude nicknames reserved for the overweight. Ser Piggy and Lord of Ham etc. But despite his cowdardly ways, Sam can totally kick ass when he absolutely has too. Like when weird ass zombie people (seriously what ARE those things) come to attack everyone.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Sam</strong>: Sam is easy to root for because you just feel so darn sorry for him! And then when Jon decides to protect him from the other meanies in the Night's Watch, it just makes you love Jon THAT must more. Check out this video of poor Sam trying to "fight" one of his fellow brothers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/VhGdqQR6b2g?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
Jon saves the day! Hooray! But before you write Sam off as Jon's sidekick, he really does come into his own eventually. When he has to go out beyond The Wall, he has many strange encounters. He even meets a girl, Gilly! She is one of gross old Craster's wife/daughter combinations (uh ewww) and she is pregnant. But Sam feels empathy towards her and eventually helps her escape. And (spoiler alert) he even gets laid! Go Sam.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DFiBx7ZJLsA/UEQJRy0ONiI/AAAAAAAAAYs/KnkPAXXdeo0/s1600/imagesCAOHOKY9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DFiBx7ZJLsA/UEQJRy0ONiI/AAAAAAAAAYs/KnkPAXXdeo0/s1600/imagesCAOHOKY9.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Gilly is pretty cute for an inbred chick</strong></div>
<br />
Sam not only has a way with the ladies, he also holds his own in an Others/White Walkers attack, even killing one with a piece of dragonglass. All of his brothers are pretty impressed and he earns the nickname "Sam the Slayer" and is pretty embarrassed about the whole thing.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Sam</strong>: Sam is very annoying a lot of the time. I hate to say it, but it's true. He is always whining about how he is such a coward when it's been proven otherwise over and over again. It's almost like he is fishing for compliments. Even Jon gets sick of him and sends him off on a boat with Gilly and Master Aemon to study abroad. You would think Sam would like this turn of events, but he just gets worried that Jon doesn't like him anymore. His lack of confidence gets really old and I find myself dreading his chapters a lot of the time. Luckily, he finally snaps out of it when he hears some cool stories about dragons and decides to go look for them (and hopefully Dany)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oWe6ZU4CyXo/UEUu0JhRyuI/AAAAAAAAAZA/urE_KhUGoxw/s1600/imagesCAQXDYC4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oWe6ZU4CyXo/UEUu0JhRyuI/AAAAAAAAAZA/urE_KhUGoxw/s1600/imagesCAQXDYC4.jpg" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
<strong>Quit feeling sorry for yourself Sam..you killed one of these guys!</strong></div>
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: Ugh, I was just imagining how annoying Sam's Facebook page would be if he had one.<br />
<br />
<strong>Samwell Tarly</strong> is sad because he is a coward and nobody likes him.<br />
<strong>Jon Snow</strong>: Sam, how many times must I tell you that you are cool and braver than you think.<br />
<strong>Grenn</strong>: Shut up Ser Piggy! You know you are great.<br />
<strong>Gilly</strong>: You are super, super awesome Sam.<br />
<strong>Samwell Tarly</strong>: I still think I suck.<br />
<br />
It would go on and on. Sam would always be feeling sorry for himself and everyone would have to constantly reassure him. So he would be a typical teenager! A fat and dorky one who would love his theater class and be in Honor's English. He wouldn't like P.E. at all, especially getting changed in the locker room. Although he would lack confidence, he would have an ultra cool best friend who would make sure the other kids were nice to him. As for girls, I think they would love Sam and always go to him for dating advice. They would never think of Sam as a potential boyfriend, which would frustrate him. But maybe there would be one super shy and weird girl that would eventually give him a chance.<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: So I once again consulted Saucer about who would be a Samwell-esque hockey player. I knew there wouldn't be a clear answer, given Sam's unsporty and overweight description. But there is one hockey player named Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings that could probably relate to Sam. I looked at his <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dustin_Brown">wiki</a> page here and found out that Dustin was a victim of bullying! After further investigation, I discovered that he started out as a young teenager and was mocked by a teammate for having a lisp and a not-hot girlfriend (Gilly??). After reading another article, it seems as though he didn't reach his full potential until the bully, a fellow named Sean Avery, was off his team for good. Now he is a captain and a real winner. Plus he seems humble and does a lot of charity work. Sounds a lot like our Samwell Tarly!<br />

His time in the ASOIAF universe is short lived, but memorable. He is the brother of Dany and looks a bit like a nerdy Legolas. This is the first character with an actual death scene for the Swords page! Yay?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HLgnbe39ON8/UD_9BphUi_I/AAAAAAAAAWA/4YHwGMUn5AI/s1600/imagesCA2MXKMK.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HLgnbe39ON8/UD_9BphUi_I/AAAAAAAAAWA/4YHwGMUn5AI/s1600/imagesCA2MXKMK.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So like his sister, Viserys also has a long "official" name (well, more like what he thinks he should be called). Viserys Targaryen, the Third of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Actually most people in the realm just call him "The Beggar King" because he has to sell a lot of his prized possessions to make ends meet for himself and his little sister. Actually, I don't think Viserys starts out that bad and you have to feel sorry for him. His family ruled Westeros for a hell of a long time and he should have been living a life similar to Prince Harry (naked pictures and cocaine, anyone)? Instead, everyone in his family was killed except for him and Dany. They have to live in exile while some other dude is king. Viserys feels pretty cheated and you can't really blame him for that. He wants the crown back and feels it is rightfully is. And he may have been right, but he was so impatient about it and that was his downfall.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Viserys</strong>: I am going to do something a little differently and do my hate section first. Mainly because there really is more to hate than to love about this guy. Let's start out with how he sells his baby sister (who is like 15 years old) to a vicious barbarian Dothraki warlord in exchange for an army to get his crown back. Yes, Dany grows to love Drogo, but it's still an asshole move. Although this isn't covered on the show, he totally wants to take her virginity for himself before her actual wedding. Luckily, this did not happen (ugh just what we need, more incest in this story)! And then, when Dany actually ends up relatively happy with her Dothraki life, he gets all jealous and yells at her all the time. He always is saying "you don't want to wake the dragon" and scaring the girl until she gains her own confidence.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4DlMonK2IN0/UEAguXxtd0I/AAAAAAAAAWc/I5CKny1FUu0/s1600/viserys.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4DlMonK2IN0/UEAguXxtd0I/AAAAAAAAAWc/I5CKny1FUu0/s1600/viserys.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
What a creepoid! He also tries to sell Dany's dragon eggs and keeps annoying the Dothraki. He acts as though he has some sort of power over them and they just think he is a big loser. They love Dany, their Khaleesi, though and this just pisses him off to no end. The final straw comes when he gets wasted and threatens Dany, Drogo and their unborn baby. He demands that Drogo "pay" for his sister and give him his golden crown. This is the response he gets from Drogo (warning, this is NOT for the faint of heart)!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://3.gvt0.com/vi/85JeShM_ck8/0.jpg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/85JeShM_ck8&fs=1&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/85JeShM_ck8&fs=1&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div>
<br />
Ahhhh, now Dany is the only heir to the Targaryen dynasty, thank you Viserys! I hope that crown feels good on your melted head.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Viserys</strong>: Well, Viserys is kind of fun to hate because he is so ridiculous. The way he acts is hilarious sometimes. He is like an uncool, delicate wisp of a guy in the midst of all those hardcore Dothraki. And he actually tries to boss them around! And like I said before, I think he starts out as an all right guy and just wants back what should be his (in his opinion). He was nice to Dany in their younger years before he grew resentful and mean. Plus, he could have gained the crazy genes from his old dad Aerys (aka the Mad King). Even after his death, Dany decides to remember the good things about him and feels like he was a good person underneath his cruelty. She honors him by naming one of her baby dragons Viserion in his memory. Check out the cutie on the right, the cream colored one! R.I.P. Viserys, may his dragon do what he could not!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wVsjwYNAIoA/UEAkn8KLvLI/AAAAAAAAAWw/G48U2mfLPbc/s1600/dragons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wVsjwYNAIoA/UEAkn8KLvLI/AAAAAAAAAWw/G48U2mfLPbc/s1600/dragons.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: For some reason I imagine Viserys as a band geek and I cant really explain why that is. I bet he would play a (golden) saxophone and would think he was better at it than he was. He would be an entitled rich kid with lots of allergies. He would totally show up uninvited to parties of the popular kids and make a drunken fool out of himself. Viserys would feel that he was popular enough to run for class president and campaign hard for it. Kind of like Reese Witherspoon in that one "Election" movie. Imagine his horror on election day when his adorable little sister wins with a bunch of write-in votes!<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix In Some Sticks</strong>: So there is no way Viserys could even pretend he was a hockey player. He is way to much of a wuss. He would definitely be involved in the Detroit Red Wings due to their dragon-esqe name. Actually, he would totally be the son of the owner of the team and would give out unsolicited advice. Those Red Wings better not wake the dragon (Oh whatever, Viserys)!<br />

Brienne does not appear right away and doesn't really hit her stride until the third book. Then, she is given her own POV chapters in Book 4. Brienne is a really cool character and one of my favorites. She is described as extremely unattractive and mannish. She is tall, flat-chested and thick. Her face isn't much better, with an oft broken nose and she is covered in freckles. She does have pretty blue eye (noticed by Jaime, awww). All of this wouldn't be a huge deal, but Brienne is the only child of a noble family. Her dad wanted to marry her off to someone suitable, but that proved to be a difficult task. Brienne is much more interested in becoming a knight and focuses her energy on honing those skills.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v3k3lRxgnKE/UDpGS5runxI/AAAAAAAAAS0/Hci_C6lUjAk/s1600/brienne.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v3k3lRxgnKE/UDpGS5runxI/AAAAAAAAAS0/Hci_C6lUjAk/s1600/brienne.jpg" yda="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This picture is from the second season of the HBO series. Brienne doesn't have a large role yet, but they did an excellent job casting her. I was a bit worried when they first showed the actress they casted, Gwendoline Christie. She is way pretty and was hoping they weren't going to "Hollywoodize" Brienne.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNlz5rRwIO0/UDpF3ByyuQI/AAAAAAAAASs/BSx-_IXsUsI/s1600/gcbri.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yNlz5rRwIO0/UDpF3ByyuQI/AAAAAAAAASs/BSx-_IXsUsI/s320/gcbri.jpg" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So far, I think she has done an excellent job of portraying Brienne. She even has a Twitter account! Check her out at <a href="https://twitter.com/lovegwendoline">https://twitter.com/lovegwendoline</a> She is very funny and even talks about filming the show here and there. I just think she is great! But back to Brienne, the character. The poor thing has some mean nicknames. She is called the Maid of Tarth as a way to point out her virginity. Some of the men in Renly's camp make wagers on who can "take her maidenhead" in a cruel bet. She is also called Brienne the Beauty in a obvious mocking fashion. Despite the fact that she shows great skill with a sword, no one really takes her seriously as a knight because she is a woman. The only man who showed her any kindness was Renly Baratheon. He treated her courteously and with respect..so Brienne promptly fell completely in love with him. Oh Brienne honey, I don't think you are Renly's type!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Brienne</strong>: It is very easy to identify with Brienne. I think we've all felt uncomfortable in our own skin and felt like an outcast. Poor Brienne spent most of her early life stuffed into dresses and looking ridiculous. She was forced to play the part of a lady and did so poorly. Once she discovered she wanted to become a knight, there was no turning back. She is very loyal and wanted to use her skills and become a member of King Renly's Rainbow Guard (ha) to protect Renly. She eventually acheives her goal by defeating Ser Loras, the Knight of Flowers, in competition and becomes "Brienne the Blue" in the Rainbow Guard. Here is the scene of her defeating Loras.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/wE2XFEUXxjk?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
LOL Loras is none too pleased by this turn of events! I think Brienne is making him a little bit jealous! But Renly can't go wrong with Brienne as a protector. Not only is she in love with him, she is the most loyal character in the series despite maybe Ned Stark. If she swears and oath to you, she takes it seriously and will fight until the end. When things don't turn out so well with Renly (sniff), she then pledges her services to Catelyn Stark and she proves to be just as loyal to her. Well, if she can stop flirting with her Kingslaying prisoner for 5 seconds!<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Brienne</strong>: There isn't really any reason to hate Brienne. As I mentioned before, In "A Sword of Storms", the story with Brienne and Jaime is one of my favorites. It was told from Jaime's point of view. In "A Feast for Crows", Brienne's storyline with Jaime is over for the most part, and her story is a bit boring to me. It picks up later, but I feel it is kind of pointless. She is searching for Sansa and Arya and we, as the readers, already know where those two are. So it's kind of boring to read about Brienne looking for them. Especially when she is way off!<br />
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: Aww Brienne is someone everyone can identify with in high school! She would be an ugly, nerdy girl who keeps to herself. She would be made fun of for her looks and wouldn't be able to hide because she was so tall. She would probably play a sport like basketball (or hockey?) and be better than all of the guys. But they wouldn't respect her because they would be jealous that she was better than them. And the guys would all invite her to prom as a big joke. But Brienne would have her own crushes that probably wouldn't lead to anything. She would have a crush on her gay best friend and would annoy the hell out of his boyfriend. The Jaime high school character would eventually be assigned as her lab partner and she would start out hating him. But then over time, she would soften towards him and have secret fantasies about him being her boyfriend.<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: So Saucer and I have been discussing this one for a couple of days. I asked her if there were any female hockey players that would work for Brienne. I guess there aren't and that's okay. Instead, we think we can put Brienne as a catalyst in one of the more popular hockey bromances. Let's go back to Saucer's <a href="http://sticksswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/patrick-kane-chicago-blackhawks.html">Patrick Kane</a> post and focus on the Patrick and Jonathan Toews bromance. They would totally be like Renly and Loras in the ASOIAF universe and Brienne would come between them. Her hockey counterpart is going to be T.J. Oshie!! Saucer will be doing a post on him soon, so stay tuned. I imagine him wanting to be Toews new best friend. Toews would like him all right, but it would make Patrick super mad!! Here is a picture of the three of them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-o0T-uLxAJFQ/UDpVCk281DI/AAAAAAAAATI/-aw8cFp_v4s/s1600/oshie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-o0T-uLxAJFQ/UDpVCk281DI/AAAAAAAAATI/-aw8cFp_v4s/s1600/oshie.jpg" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wu0KBOy-1xI/UDpVE5zqqYI/AAAAAAAAATQ/VVzKmMj99to/s1600/imagesCA3KFKUB.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wu0KBOy-1xI/UDpVE5zqqYI/AAAAAAAAATQ/VVzKmMj99to/s1600/imagesCA3KFKUB.jpg" yda="true" /></a></div>
It looks like T.J. Oshie is dying to join Patrick and Johnny's Rainbow Guard. <br />
<br />
I am going to end this post with a funny picture from Ser Loras's Twitter account (aka <a href="https://twitter.com/FinnJones">https://twitter.com/FinnJones</a>). Adorable..Brienne and Loras getting along!<br />
<br />

</div>
Ahhh, Jaime!! Before I begin I would like to explain myself. Yes, Jaime is one of my ASOIAF crushes. Yes, I know he is pretty much a douche and he pushes children out windows and has sexy times with his sister. I feel kind of lame because as soon as I told Saucer about my crush, she was watching that one episode where he is beating the shit out of poor Ned and his entourage. I am fully aware of all of Jaime's flaws and I was not a big fan at first. But unlike Cersei, his point of view chapters really warmed me up to him. And his strange alliance with Brienne of Tarth really touched my heart. Plus, he totally looks like Sawyer from Lost. Look at this!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JlaXU1vDQyk/UDRcpaZUyYI/AAAAAAAAAQU/KtXnUVM1Jto/s1600/untitled.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" mda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JlaXU1vDQyk/UDRcpaZUyYI/AAAAAAAAAQU/KtXnUVM1Jto/s1600/untitled.bmp" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-or_ys2F-q4o/UDRcq13CrBI/AAAAAAAAAQc/7VvCG8OCKe0/s1600/untitled1.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" mda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-or_ys2F-q4o/UDRcq13CrBI/AAAAAAAAAQc/7VvCG8OCKe0/s1600/untitled1.bmp" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So Jaime has only one nickname that really counts and that is The Kingslayer. He is known as this based on his actions during "Robert's Rebellion" (when are we going to get a prequel detailing this whole story?!) Long story short, Jaime was part of the Kingsguard sworn to protect King Aerys II aka The Mad King aka Dany's daddy. The king had a terrible plan that would kill everyone in Kings Landing by fire. Jaime slew the king before this could happen, Robert Baratheon took the throne and everyone was saved. Honestly, Jaime did real good here saving the city and all. But no one really knows why he did what he did and he is given a lot of crap for his betrayal (I'm looking at you, Brienne). So Jaime is called The Kingslayer by all the realm.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Jaime</strong>: Jaime is very handsome and looks like a male Cersei. He is considered to be the best knight ever and wins tons of tournaments with that sword of his. If you aren't into sports, Jaime is quite humorous. I like his chapters because a lot of humor comes through, even in the darkest of times. He can come across as arrogant but he does it in a funny way. Also, he is way nicer to Tyrion than Cersei is and genuinely is fond of him. Anyone who has Tyrion's back is okay with me!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h3bjQZGV4WE/UDRO6mfT8FI/AAAAAAAAAP0/N8e4t91MBGE/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" mda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h3bjQZGV4WE/UDRO6mfT8FI/AAAAAAAAAP0/N8e4t91MBGE/s1600/images.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Jaime</strong>: See my intro. Jaime is kind of crazy..about Cersei. If it wasn't for Cersei, Jaime would be a lot more reasonable. To be fair, he truly seems to love her and is completely faithful to her. But it's his freaking SISTER and it's not cool to do the things he does. Even if they are "the things he does for love."<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/lOgsbTSVLD4?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
<strong>Brienne, the Maid of Tarth</strong>: Okay if I were to ship anyone in these books, I would totally ship Jaime and Brienne! Yes they meet under some strange circumstances and they hate each other for a lot of it. And don't forget he is her prisoner! But I think Brienne makes him human again. She is like the anti-Cersei. She is ugly, mannish and has a heart of gold. I love them together! Their scenes are some of my favorites in the books and I can't wait until they get to them in the show. Here is an early picture of their growing friendship (or whatever you want to call it).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mPs3pBra8sI/UDRROee66KI/AAAAAAAAAP8/Y9cGODsrEQw/s1600/brienne.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" mda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mPs3pBra8sI/UDRROee66KI/AAAAAAAAAP8/Y9cGODsrEQw/s320/brienne.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: I was totally ready to have Jaime be the high school male version of Cersei but then I got to thinking. I actually don't think he would be like that at all. He would definitely be a jock, but also kind of a loner. He wouldn't have that many male friends and would be aloof to all the girls who would be super fans. As with Cersei before him, I don't think his incest would translate into today's high school arena. He would be dating a really popular, pretty and shallow girl and having lots of hot sex with her. He would convince himself that he was in love with her. But there would be nerdy and ugly girl in one of his classes he wouldn't be able to get out of his mind no matter how hard he tried.<br />
<br />
<strong>Let's Mix in Some Sticks</strong>: Like Saucer in her most recent post, we are going to start connecting the world of hockey with the world of Game of Thrones. Since I am so new to hockey, I consulted Saucer about Jaime. She said that he would definitely be a player name Tyler Seguin. According to her, he is a "sexy, hot mess". Sounds a lot like our Jaime! According to his Wikipedia page, he is quite the hockey player. He is to hockey what Jaime is to jousting. And I agree with Saucer regarding his looks. Look at this guy!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ol_mi0P7gJc/UDRa_INJ8wI/AAAAAAAAAQM/UA4w8YMlTOU/s1600/imagesCAU46AM6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" mda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ol_mi0P7gJc/UDRa_INJ8wI/AAAAAAAAAQM/UA4w8YMlTOU/s1600/imagesCAU46AM6.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I chose this particular picture rather than one of the many "shirtless" ones that showcase his "assets" better. This picture reminds me of Jaime. Substitute that stick for a sword, throw some knight-wear on him and send him to the realm!! Wait, Tyler doesn't have a twin sister, does he?<br />

I call her Cersei Lannister even though her last name should really be Baratheon. But everyone calls her Lannister . But she hates her husband (a fact she barely conceals) so it doesn't really matter. She doesn't mind being the Queen though. And she does quite a lovely job. Here is a picture of her and King Robert acting all royal. That adorable little boy next to them is the better of the two sons, Tommen. Joffrey is a little asshole with no redeeming qualities. But I will go into that later. Too bad Joffrey is next in line for the throne.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V9nvZhvIALY/UDLHaQU0-ZI/AAAAAAAAAN8/yNM3N4rSq_8/s1600/imagesCAADWWC7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" mda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V9nvZhvIALY/UDLHaQU0-ZI/AAAAAAAAAN8/yNM3N4rSq_8/s320/imagesCAADWWC7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Yeah yeah, Cersei is sooooo pretty and regal looking. Ugh, she is probably plotting evil schemes in that very picture. Probably thinking evil thoughts about our beloved Starks. Cersei loves power and would do anything to have it for herself or for her children. She is of the noble family, Lannister, and is sister to <a href="http://swordsswordsandsticks.blogspot.com/2012/08/tyrion-lannister-former-hand-of-king.html">Tyrion</a> and twin sister to Jaime, the greatest knight in the realm. She doesn't really have any nicknames besides Queen, Queen Regent and Lady of Casterly Rock. But she doesn't need any. She is considered to be the most beautiful woman in the realm and she is the Queen, duh! Oh, and that twin brother I mentioned earlier. Cersei is totally doing him. Ewwww! Here is a picture of those two sickos.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gaFpbnEEFuY/UDLKA3Q1vdI/AAAAAAAAAOM/HahE1b1AbCQ/s1600/cerseijaime.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" mda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gaFpbnEEFuY/UDLKA3Q1vdI/AAAAAAAAAOM/HahE1b1AbCQ/s1600/cerseijaime.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Oh who am I kidding, if they weren't related they might be kind of a cute couple. I really enjoy Lena Heady, who plays Cersei. It was probably hard to find an actress who lives up to the beauty described in the books. But she totally works it. I think she really hits her stride in Season 2 and I absolutely think she deserved an Emmy nomination for her work.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to love Cersei</strong>: Well I guess if you are really superficial and going by looks alone, Cersei would definitely win Westeros's Next Top Model. But she would probably "take care of" any prettier contestants so who knows. Hmm, well Cersei is a good mom to her little monster, Joffrey and her other kids. Here is a clip of Tyrion describing her better qualities at around 2:20.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/ITWD1SLIUOw?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
I guess you can admire Cersei for being sexually adventurous. Men, women, kings, knights, fools, cousins, brothers..the list goes on! Cersei gets around and gets away with it. And I think her love for Jaime is genuine, however twisted that may be.<br />
<br />
<strong>Reasons to hate Cersei</strong>: Late, I will go into Cersei vs. Ned Stark, Sansa Stark and basically everybody who has the last name Stark. They are the story's heroes, more or less, and Cersei is a direct antagonist. But I honestly didn't really hate Cersei until "A Feast for Crows" where we were treated to an inside look at her craziness via her point-of-view chapters. Although Tyrion hinted at it, I didn't realize just how cruel and ruthless our queen really was. Some of the things she does are unspeakable and her alliance with the torturer, Qyburn is something out of a horror movie. Plus, she really is horrible to her little brother Tyrion (who I love). She blames him for their mother dying and does anything to make his life hell. She apparently never showed Tyrion any kindness in her life. Though I don't want to spoil anything, even Jaime is not off limits for her cruelty. Screw you, Cersei! I am glad you are on Arya's death list. Let's see how that turns out for you.<br />
<br />
<strong>High School</strong>: Ha ha, I feel kind of bad for any male/female twins out there who have Game of Thrones fans for friends. They probably have to suffer side eyes and people wondering if they do it Lannister style! I seriously doubt I had any twincestual twins in my high school, so I will skip that. Cersei would be the head cheerleader, queen bee, total bitch-slut of any high school. But everyone would want to win her approval anyway. She would be dating the most popular guy in high school (prom king, perhaps?) and would be cheating on him. Probably not with her brother, but who knows! There's not much else to say about her high school alter ego. It's probably the most obvious one!<br />
<br />
With that I will leave you with this beautiful and sinister picture of Queen Cersei on the Iron Throne.<br />
